Sounds really promising. It's a big challenge to build such a number of missions, but you seem to be well prepared. I will follow this thread, if you need alpha/beta testers, I could assist.

Just like Sly, you're absolutely right Brethren but we all need to be a little crazy now and then ;) Preparation will be key every step of the way but also like I said earlier, 30 is just a maximum number. It'll probably end up not being as big as that although all opinions are helpful to me and bring up different matters to my attention so thanks for the assessment and the support :)
The most practical way to go about this will probably be to release as two separate campaigns Constance, again revisiting the eyes being bigger than the stomach. I won't be risking a burnout by taking on too many things at the one time so thanks for pointing that out :)
Thanks JoergA, all support is welcome and thanks for the offer. I'll be letting everyone expressing interest know when Mission 1 is ready to start testing :)

Have you started working on it ? I mean, did you already build something in dromed, like the first level ?
In my opinion, the idea of the campaign can be pretty interesting, but the project itself is too big to be true. You can trust me on that, I'm working on a 7 missions campaign since 2003, small project compared to yours in theory. But I only released 3 missions since then, being close to have 2 more finished.
I think you have the will to do it, but you have no idea how long it would take... No matter how ambitious you are, at moments you burn out, need a pause, and if you really love the project you come back to it.
Just look at the Hammerite Imperium, and the Circle of Stone and Shadows : 2 major campaigns for the past 12 years with tons of people involved, 1 is dead, the other is going extremely slow. And there are lots of similar cases.
It took years for Eshaktaar to complete both Ominous bequest and Broken Triad, for Lady Rowena to complete the Seven Sisters, for Gaetane to complete the Black Frog. And they are "only" 3 to 5 missions campaigns.
I suggest you build the very first mission, betatest it and release it. Consider it as an introduction to your project somehow. Then see all the time it took you to build 1 mission out of 30, and do the math.
I'm not trying to stop you or anything, I'm just warning you about the colossal amount of work your project sounds like.

30 missions :weird: ? This is a joke, right? Because if it's not, I will not live from a long time already when the last part will be released :joke: . OK, seriously, I like your attitude, just be careful don't lose it meanwhile as has been said above.

Yeah at the moment I have a barebones environment laid out and sketches of where I want things, details, etc. Also I have very little to do at the moment so this will be receiving my full attention. I'm a little obsessive when it comes to my creative side so I can pretty much guarantee this dream won't die (touch wood).
I'm trying to adopt the same work ethic I did with my effects company, too many cooks spoil the broth. I've always found that as few people as possible means less confusion albeit more work. Just as long as I can get all of the custom elements finished then it'll come along much faster :D
Yeah it'll take a while to bring it all together, but anything that's worth doing is worth all the time, missed birthdays/christmases/interviews lol. The beta test mission will incorporate the feel of the whole series so basing on the reaction I get from it, I'll know which directions to go in, what needs attention and how much interest is in the project as a whole :)
As always, thanks for the advice and assessment DrK :D

where is the pagan faction?
Kommando on 11/10/2012 at 17:11
The pagans won't have their own campaign but will make an appearance in a small way. Considering the time scale that it's set in, the pagans will still either be in hiding or there'll be very few of them because of the Mechanist extermination. The Mechanists will still be around and still be a force to be reckoned with so if I was a pagan I'd be keeping my head down as well lol

I'll be on the sidelines, just as humoured by the notion of someone making a 30 Mission Campaign (The first to ever exist if he succeeds), as anyone.

Good luck with your dream Kommando !
