Actually, I advise you to download (http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/modcontrols/mod.asp?modid=4549) Galsiah's Character Development, It makes being a mage easier and it also makes things much more realistic. And you can use it on an existing game!

Just be warned that if you use it on a pre-existing game and you mess up, then you'll need to load the game without the mod, save, then load again with it installed once more. But it won't be a problem for you.
