*reading well in between the lines*
Does that mean the source code is being sought after by the company for a "good" reason? Maybe to give something back to the fans, so to speak?

It certainly does appear that way from what she said, they are looking for it....
If they have as much archived material as I *THINK* they probably have thats gonna take a while unless their IT guy/girl's were exceptionally well organized which I doubt.
Takes time to go searching through tons of backup tapes. Lets just hope whoever is doing it is well motivated.

Agreed. And FYI, René is a man's name. Renée is the female version. I'm sure he'll forgive you. :sly:

René, thank you so much for putting forth the effort to locate the source code. Out of all the attempts made to get someone to track it down over the years, this is the most heartfelt and earnest attempt I've seen. My inquiries a few years ago were ignored. Thank you, and good luck. I'm sure it will not be an easy hunt. I have had my doubts that the source code even exists anymore.

We haven't forgotten about this! Truth be told, it's surprisingly difficult to track this down. One would think things had been properly backed up and archived but it's not the case. With Looking Glass closing its doors and Eidos' ups and downs through the years and people coming and going to and from different ends of the earth, we are still searching.
I'll keep you posted!!

In the meantime, we'll just compensate with OpenDarkEngine or TDM...

Hmm, I doubt this would work, but has anyone thought of reverse engineering?
Yeah, I agree, a wasted cause...

Of course. But without header files, it's really, really difficult.

René, thank you very much for your honest effort to find the source code!

Agreed. René is a very heedful person, which is a very rare quality among employees...of some corporations these days. I'm crossing my fingers in hope that his work will be successful.
