Eidos bought the machines. We have no idea what all was purchased, but we know the machines were. We don't know how much of the hard drives were wiped, but when the LGS devs showed up at Ion Storm to finish the trilogy, they found their old computers with the same desktop wallpapers. But what really matters is what happened to the software, the proprietary stuff as well as the backup discs (the devs admit to being bad about making backups).

Every sign is like a leaf
On the tree of petition
Will it bear fruit?
P.S. 694 sign so far.

Here's hoping for reaching 700+ by at least tomorrow!

The more signs,
The less my hope.
I'm sad.

I think 700 is a fantastic number for games this old! Since they are already looking into it, I don't think we need huge numbers to convince them.:):):):)

There...700.
Friends and family, baby.

jtr7: Yes, 700 is a good number. BTW, you've said: "they", but the only person from EM, who watching (ok, replying) this topic, is René. Are you sure about "them?"
Queue: Many thanks to you, your family and your friends :)!
P.S. 701 signs so far.

We haven't forgotten about this! Truth be told, it's surprisingly difficult to track this down. One would think things had been properly backed up and archived but it's not the case. With Looking Glass closing its doors and Eidos' ups and downs through the years and people coming and going to and from different ends of the earth,
we are still searching.
I'll keep you posted!!

Now I'm worried that if
we don't deliver there will be a hanging in the town square! :D Oh man, I have to try harder now! Where's Randy Smith's phone number? (no I don't really have it)
René's our contact, not the only one looking, and since he's up in Montréal, he cannot physically search for it, only inquire, call around, email, and nag a bit.:p I would also like to believe that those whom cobak contacted did some asking of their own.

I say we mail the man a flashlight and some cash for a plane ticket. If we can somehow arrange it so he can rent the Scooby Doo van after he lands, I bet he won't be able to resist.

jtr7: Yes, I do remember that :). Well, I hope that sooner or later some of them will unveiled themselves, as René did.
Renzatic: Please calm down, taffer :). All the taffers is waiting for 10 years. Shouldn't we wait a bit still?
