I'd really love to at least see the permission to reverse engineer Dromed legally. It is already somewhat legal here (Czech... I can do whatever I need to get a software running provided I have a legal copy - EULA is probably not enforceable here). Still I won't do anything in this direction till there is a clear green light from Square Enix.
Well, let's not lose hope yet :)

Volca: You can insert some sort of disclaimer in your OPDE distributive telling to user that "this software contains reverse-engineried code of your Dark Engine game(s), so if you don't want to break the game EULA, then cease the installation. Install? Cancel?"

Well, that is an option - but the way I see it it has a few drawbacks:
* It restricts the legal usability of the software
* It may mean all the work on the project would be in danger when a legal threat would be issued by someone
* It could mean negative publicity/software distribution restrictions
I hope this petition won't evaporates into void slowly... René, please keep us posted :)
