The "Where are they now?" thread (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120532) http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120532 mentions someone who works at the same game studio I work for. If they still work there I'll ask them about the source. Don't hold your breath over this, though - it's a big AAA company, they may not still be working there and if they do have the source then I, for one, won't be publicly distributing it without permission.
It would be nice to know whether, in principle, the source exists and is obtainable, though.

Still sounds slim, but that would be cool of you.:thumb:

SiO2: Please ask them if you can :). If somebody of them doesn't want any publicity - no problem. They may just send a private message to me, René or Volca; they may even use any other method to contact the Thief-community at their will. Any parts of the Thief 1 and/or Thief 2 sources are welcome. I know that chances are very weak, but it is better than nothing.
P.S. 959 signs so far.

Dang, I was hoping to reach a thousand by New Year's, but it's slowing to a trickle. Definitely a thousand in 2010, though.:thumb:

Maybe we should email some of the guys from LGS. Its not like Harvey Smith is doing anything important....

You mean Randy Smith. Harvey Smith worked with Ion Storm Texas, not Looking Glass Studios in Boston.

I spoke with the lead programmer while reverse engineering dark. He had no source code and remembered next to nothing about how he coded it. I knew more about the engine than he did at that point.
The company itself looked for it and so far has come up empty so I wouldn't hold my breath. Best case is some ex LGS employee dusting off an old computer in there garage and finding it so talking to each and every one of them is the best bet, although the chance of anyone keeping a computer from that era, let alone without a wiped drive is next to none...

Not to mention they shouldn't have any LGS/Eidos assets at home, and if they do, should not publicly admit it, so it will all have to be on the sly.
