Maybe he found more than he was looking for.

Don't know if anyone will get that reference. lol By the way, that is not a confirmation of anything.

It's bloody obvious that Rene has left because he had found something. Something.

I have no idea why he left, but assuming he does have something for us, it seems he wanted to wait until he had left Eidos.

Hahaha, naw. We're waiting for the René 2.0 they've got in beta right now. Truly, we are hoping to pick back up with the new hire.

Those dogs are just a leeetle bit creepy, NH :erm:
Rene has clearly enacted scenes from First City Bank & Trust by breaking into Eidos' vault and stealing some source code. They have only just realised when they woke up with sore heads :ebil:

The secondary unit should be online soon. He's currently undergoing preparation and will be operational within six months. My people will continue to report on his progress. If necessary, the primary will be terminated.

René 2.0 does know we exist, right? And about this thread?
If not, I suspect we'll be waiting a very long time...

As soon as he's introduced to the community, I will ask him publicly, and he will be asked in an email or Private Message, too.

Hope it happens soon.

Am I the only one confused by this conversation ?
It seems like he has the source code but how does him leaving Eidos have anything to do with that ?
Lets say he does have the code and plans to release it to someone in the community won't Eidos simply come after him and the community with a lawyer posse ?
If they had authorized it he would have released it when he still worked there. That would make sense. They would want the good press from it. Giving back to the community and shit.
And if they did not give permission isnt this going to attract a lot of negative attention to the community and the Darkmod in the process ?
They have not bothered the Darkmod afaik and they have for all intents and purposes replaced Thief making the likelihood of any future titles like Th1ef4 less likely to succede.
