This isn't really going nowhere, doesn't it?

This whole thing is just frustrating as a fan. The source has actually been found, which is amazing, but now it seems the process is caught up in the corporate ways of Eidos. I just wish there was more the fanbase could do to help the process along without pissing off Eidos and hurting our chances.
The petition is one thing, but maybe a promotional web site is in order, ala the old site for the Thief 3 editor? Also, more mentions on news sites will both bring attention and get more signatures. Not sure would else would work, maybe someone else knows of other situations like this in the past where the fanbases efforts actually got results? I'm willing to try just about anything.

Strip naked, stand outside their corporate offices, and serenade them with a ukulele?

... so we can call the game (if we have the source) Thief - The Stripped Project? :p

We could promise Eidos that if we get out source code we won't strip naked and make naked dances in front of the building.

A promotional website containing information about the very best of fan content and fixes made for Dark Engine over the years would be a good start. Something to show that the Thief community is still active, highly productive and passionate.
