Guys, I can't believe
I'm saying this, but it's not really helpful to send a petition to a corporate executive that's full of vapid and idiotic comments: i.e.
Quote:
I can haz source code??? XD
or
Quote:
I spoke to God yesterday and I asked, "God, can there ever be peace in this world?" and He answered, "I can do nothing without the Thief source code."
The same goes for comments pointing out how absurd the company is being by not releasing the source code to us: i.e.
Quote:
Guys, Commertional way of using it was over years ago
A corporate
douche-bag executive will disregard any petition full of such comments instantly. So please, just think about it before posting such comments.
p.s. This was an example of a useful comment, one that is thoughtful and doesn't sound like gibberish spilling from a twelve year-old:
Quote:
I love the Thief games, but it is becoming increasingly hard to run them properly on modern system. Releasing the source code would allow people to write "source ports" that will run on modern systems. This would not only make existing fans happy, it would encourage new sales if people knew they could install and play the games without problems. Please release the source code.

WOT?!?! :wot::wot::wot:
Alright. Who stole Queue's password? :cheeky:
Really though, Queue is absolutely right. Keep it mature & reasonable if you want to be taken seriously.
Oh & signed...#532.
Though I did get a chuckle out of the God comment! :p

some of them comments are really funny :)
And of course the most irritating one is from our local hate monger.

I said I wouldn't but I signed anyway. If Rene can somehow manage to achieve what several others have tried over the years, myself included, I'll be pretty surprised.

Queue, pavlovscat, Thelvyn: I do realize that some of comments are... unusual. I could edit them, but... I don't want to. How do you think: should I?
New Horizon: I'm glad to read this. Thank you :)!

Do not do anything on my account! I am of no importance.
I do not write FM's and the one thing I do know how to do Programming ?
Well that was of no benefit due to my lack of college level math to go along with it.
Besides where do we draw the line ?
Whose message is too stupid or ignorant and needs to be changed ?
That is a can of worms we should not open I would say.

Eidos owns it! The rogues over at TTLG have a formal request going and we're checking into it. Can't promise anything right now but we'll see!
So that's pretty encouraging news.

I hope that you guys don't forget to ask for the source for Dromed as well. Otherwise the source code for Thief itself will be of pretty limited use.

I don't think you should edit...how would you determine what qualifies for deletion? I'm not for censorship. Mine was just a plea for later signers to think about how their comments would be perceived by a corporation.
Thanks for the petition. I hope we see results. :thumb:

Thelvyn: Ok :).
poroshin: Agreed.
sparhawk: Hmm... AFAIK, a game's milestone should contain every game's material. But who knows:confused:...
pavlovscat: About censorship: agreed. About petition: thanks, I hope too :).
