you forget the removal of ethical constraints, considering it's a leak and all.

The Dev kit was actually received 4 years ago and the 'WIP' Thief 2 / Shock 2 missions discovered in September after the guy was finally able to get the equipment he needed to access the drive. It was just last week that the same person looked into the bag that came with the kit and discovered the CD with the source code. It sat in the bottom of some random guys closet for 4 years. Unreal huh?

Yeah, it's absolutely unbelievable to think about all the people who used to say "Aww... it's probably just sitting on a CD in someone's closet. It'll be found someday." While all us realistic/pessimistic taffers kept saying "No way man... there's just no hope of anything like that. Not ever!" I'm glad to eat my own words. Tastes like chicken.

Funny, my words taste like stale pizza. :p
This is all so exciting. Hopefully we'll see progress like what happened with that Dolphin Emulator for the GC and Wii.

I'm glad to see this getting more coverage. I'm curious what Eidos will do, and I'm the type of guy who says "if something is going to happen, there's no point in delaying it". There's no point sitting around for weeks wondering what their reactions will be, when we can just tell them from the get-go and find out straight away.

As someone pointed out in the comments of that article, it might not be Eidos we have to worry about (they have proven to be at least fairly chill about stuff) but Square Enix (not to mention EA):

Well, it could be worse - it's not as if Eidos is owned by a company infamous for its zero tolerance policy towards fan projects derived from their IPs or anything.
Oh wait.
And yeah as you said, there isn't much point in delaying the inevitable... but I'm not going to be the one to post it heh

Maybe there is a point in creating a new, clean thread where first message will contain link to the source and latest news on digging this source code? That would be perfect and will save time from reading hundreds of posts...
