Thank you so much for that. Still cannot see any button but what does that matter when you can learn to stand at a particular spot and aim so that the middle top of your reticle coincides with a dark blob on the wall :) Thanks again, problem solved.

Couldn't find the pedestal got the statue hit the 2 buttons near the fire guards I've given up crtl alt shift end to the next mission sorry gort.

The pedestal for the statue is in between the two buttons. If you activate them, the middle will open enough to enter the center area. Having the statue on the pedestal will then open the area where you saw the crushed Hammerite.

I was wondering what the left statue button does in the spider's room. If my thinking is correct about the readables, I may have removed the 'laughter' by cleaning-up(lava drop) the Hammerite party bodies along the way. The archer body was still puffing after I crossed the ropes, lol. Shesh, hated to bait the creatures to the lava flow but at least some didn't suicide themselves between my button pushing.
Back to secret#1 after finally getting 2 fire arrows in the lost city; fairly linear so far, gives me a second chance to search for things. I left the patrolling fire elements alone; just the ones associated with the fire haunts got extinguished. Did you intend the fire elements to be sword killable on Hard(didn't try broad arrow, sword was just a test, I took 1HP proximity damage).

1.) Those buttons let down the rope above the Cthulhu statue by the singe Cray Beast. You'll need to press both buttons.
2.) For one of the secrets you might've missed... This one near the bottom of the first tunnel from the beginning of the mission. You'll need a Fire Arrow to blow up a big rock. (It will be a bit discolored from the rest of the terrain.) If you can't find it, try using a melee weapon on the terrain.
3.) About the Fire Elementals... They can also be killed that way in Thief 1/G.

Golden Hammer I missed. Found it in the first rope-up area. Twas tucked in an angled corner. I missed the
fire arrows in lava when playing Hard and again when searching through the second time, lol. Found while playing Expert, today.
Finished both exit version saves. Got everything.
Darn flute thing must of changed in V1.22; I just throwed(right click) it at the lost city statues. The papyrus pictographs(top line) were not much help other then to get me to the location. Tremendous help in finding the normal exit route(bottom part plus book). The only haunt body I couldn't move was the mushed guy; all zombies removed the last one by the remaining fire arrow. I may replay this mission on Expert to allow all the fire elementals to live; Im thinking that this is a natural area for them and the fire haunts were just using them. There may be some exceptions for navigation purposes. I would also like to lessen the creature suicides somehow.Nightmare: is it normal to have the 'Miss35 file is corrupt' text during the intro, several times instead of the convo-text? I can use my voice to text software to get the conversation if that is all it is missing. Normal thing as I am deaf. Im sure the 'hard of hearing' appreciate the effort with closed captioning important comments and movies.
PS: There are a few inconsistent comments in starting the mission. I don't recall the Estate 'sinking' when I left. I was fairly sure the Estate Belonged to ChristineV, being her family crypt was there. Greg's house? Thought he was a maintenance guy with the blade shooter. Heh, I guess the shooter could be salvaged from disabled/destroyed mech tech, never occurred to me to write it into any of my stories. Blowgun darts(KO or narcotic) are a far enough stretch, yes. If I could have it my way the missiles would use the small crossbow or slingshot; a bow is a rather large cumbersome weapon to carry for a thief as is the sword(magical spacesaving containers used perhaps).
Expert reply:
I have given up on my "no creature suicide" rule. I am no good at getting both buttons pushed with 10 arrows, maybe if there was a visual clue of a successful hit for each statue. Maybe I will try again later, this time with a mad dash for the other button after a save. Yeah, that did it! Only took a couple tries to get it perfect, no creatures followed me back to the lava flow (2 arrows used).
Playing with about 8 fewer water arrows than Hard at this point. Used a fire arrow to take out the post rope-up zombie; hoping that wasn't a mistake but it was a great time saver, that one has good edge sense took forever and sword persuasion to get him to drop to a lower level on hard for the lava flow explosion.
At the lost city, I again snuck past the gateway fire haunt; both zombies got killed by him, 12 minutes well spent after the hammer haunt was BSed.

About the Nightmare mission: The text file is suppose to be that way. It's just there to almost act like the game is doing one of those .EXE game moments. Mainly, the movie is pretty much like the "Precious Cargo" mission with static. But you may want to take a good look at Lotus.
The Estate they're talking about is Greg's in "The Unknown Treasure". Christine's Estate is in a completely different city. If I decide to make it, that will be relieved in TROTB 3.

Perhaps I will give "The Unknown Treasure" a try later; if I get through this campaign. Finished this mission on Expert with 1 water arrow, 2 fire arrows, lots of broad arrows and 2or3 moss left in 80 minutes(3 days for both hard and expert). Challenging missions for my play style!!!

Need help. Playing on Deathwish and I'm running in circles.... I killed all enemies at the frog beast/spider area and pushed both buttons. Then I roped up and advanced to the area with the 2 fire haunts and destroyed them. I pushed the 2 buttons with arrows, opening a small room with something like a pedestral. I went back and noticed the lava lakes has ropes now... I collected about 6-7 empty Nr.2 crystals and turned them into water arrows... I can't pick up the little fire statue which is in plain sight... What the hell did I miss? Almost 1 hour into this mission and starting to feel trolled.
Edit: Ok, I was able to pick it up after I tried a few things on the statue. Appearently a few water arrows do the job... Then I put the damn thing on the pedestral pushing it down. But it seems like nothing happened?!?! Any hints appreciated!
Edit2: Hmm. Nevermind. Love it when I have to run from one end to the other end of the map multiple times in every single mission of a campaign. But I'm absolutely amazed by the lava geysir!
