Have you looked at the (http://www.bogadocious.com/thief/walks/2017/TROTB2.zip) walkthrough? You might try Dahenjo's method of running flat out through the tunnels. Use my map to plot a course and run like hell.

Just finished it on deathwish! I must say, contrary to the previous mission, this was a delight! :)
