 :cheeky:
Zaccheus, I played through it this weekend, and I just wanted to say how nice a job you did with it. It was kind of weird being in the Cathedral again and not having debris and undead everywhere.... but I thoroughly enjoyed it! Great job!
Are you still planning a T2 version with mechanists?

I just got around to finishing the level a few days
ago and I must say finding the Eye was the freakiest part!:o
Honestly, if I were Garrett, I would toast the thing with a fire arrow-NEVER TRUST TALKING ROCKS!

I knew it was possible, but it can be quite tricky.

:D

Great mission. I played it for a second time, and... it just became the first FM I ever ghosted! :D
Difficulty: Hard
Total Time: 1 hour 2 minutes 23 seconds
Found: 1008 loot out of 2288
Locks picked: 4
Back Stabs: 0 Knock Outs: 0
Damage Dealt: 0 Damage Taken: 0 Healing Taken: 0
Innocents Killed: None, and others Killed: 0
I didn't care about the loot, I just wanted to ghost it. I had some troubles:
First, I couldn't enter the cathedral by the courtyard door, as usual, because there was no way I could get past the Hammerite guard, at the second floor of St Yora, watching always the same hall. Plus, the floor he was was on was made of tiles, and two other Hammers patroled quite fast through the area. All this prevented me to go in the chamber containing the courtyard key whitout being spotted. So, I had an idea. I went outside, back near the starting point, near one of the west walls around the cathedral. I stacked a speed potion, a scroll, a healing potion and a fruit (the fruit and the scroll I found in St Yora, I think), and I went up on the wall. From there, I easily made my way to the 3rd floor of the cathedral, by the side door west of the building, avoiding the Hammer patroling in circles.
I turned right immediately upon entering and opened the door in front of me, to find myself on the wooden bridge leading to the library key. I extinguished some torches (3, I think), then crouched, crossed the bridge, picked the door's lock and got the blue key.
Then, I went back right to St Yora, to the library, where I got the Blessed Holy Water. I came back to the halls patroled by the 2 fast Hammers. avoiding them and making my way to the Skull of St Yora. I used the Blessed Holy Water to destroy the "Force Field" and presto! The Vault Key was mine!
Then, I got back to the "main area" of the cathedral, to the same wooden bridge I already got on, crouched and dropped on the guard below to avoid damage, made my way to the place where you can easily jump on the giant metal hammer... and here came my 2nd little trouble.
You know, these four little "lamps" around the giant hammer? Those who transform into cheese when you extinguish them? Well, they create a lot of light. And two Hammers are watching the area I have to cross to get to stairway leading to the basement. So, what was I to do? I crouched, then leaned forward, firing two water arrows at the two "pieces of cheese" that were the farthest from the Hammerites. Always crouched, I dropped down below whitout a sound, in the shadow of the giant Hammer. I advanced as close as I could to the west door, whitout being seen, and opened it. Then, I ran in the shadow of the door, being lighted up briefly and only receiving small comments from the Hammerites.
After that, it was a piece of cake to wait for the two patroling Hammers to quit the tiled stairway, to get down to the basement, to grab the eye (and some loot), and to get back to the third floor using the same stairway. Then, the only thing I had left to do was to cross another wooden bridge (extinguishing some torches with the water arrows I found in the basement), walking behind one of the patroling Hammers, and get back out the cathedral the same way I had entered it, avoiding the Hammerite patroling in circles outside.
I bet no one will read the novel I just wrote :p

My God!
When I made this mission I feared it would be unghostable.
Getting in via the balcony is pure genius!
Thank you for adding my FM to those which
can be ghosted.
:)
