I thought The Retreival was a very nice mission, I especially like the giant loaf of bread, but not that man that turns the whole town against me. I found one door that will not unlock.
In the woman magician's house, you can hear someone snoreing. Stacking crates along the wall outside allowed me to go onto the roof where I found a door on the second floor of the magician's house, where I continue to hear the person snoreing. Is there a way into this door?

I'm stuck. Everyone in the town is after me for some reason. I took out most of the people in the town square but I cannot enter the Hammerite compound due to insufficient armament. Which item do I need get the blackjack? Which item do I need to get the sword? I've got two mines and three fire arrows left.

Handy tip #1: You can thin out the guards a bit by alerting a bunch of them and one of the two magic users in the level. Keep running and eventually their projectiles will kill a few of the guards.
Handy tip #2: You can mantle up the guardhouse's roof for a temporary escape. If the marketplace is swarming with enemies, this is a good place to save your game.
To get the blackjack, you need
the head of St. Donut. To get it, jump down to the Craymen and find the hole in the wall. Avoid the haunts, apparitions, zombies and that strange shape with the glowing eyes and climb up the ladder at the end of the catacombs. The head is in the sarcophargus. Now go it the Hammer's compound and use the head on the box on the altar. Inside is the Holy Hammer. Get back to the marketplace and use the Holy Hammer on the correct box. The blackjack is inside.
Where can I find a key (or some other way) to get into the bakery? I want to see this giant loaf of bread...
I enjoyed this mission, it got me laughing several times! :D

Got the sword after getting that Keeper instructor's book. I had to kill almost the entire angry mob until I finally noticed it.
I thought "Retreival" was almost criminally bad. Still, I enjoyed it somewhat. It is clear this was created by a bunch of teens who had no idea what they were doing. I'm talking about this "Let's put another six-odd guards in this area"-design idea that was apparently going on.
