You will be able to enter that building only after going into the hammerite complex.

I think I have been in just about every building that doesn't require the other lockpick. I've been to the hammerite complex and got the book with the cure. Cured a lot of folks, too. I do remember going into this strange room after the hammerite thing and not really knowing what to do (there were 4 or 5 altars in there). I've just been wandering around trying to get into that mech building. Thanks.

No, you are not either, but if you relax and backtrack, and proceed logically in this immense and complex mission, you will be surprised that one action leads to another. I made it in 11 hours on easy; so can you!
