:D just want to add my praise to the list. THis is a BEAUTIFUL mission to look at, and I've just scraped the surface of the plot after an hour or so. I'm having such a good time.
Loved the nod to the 'Masque of the Red Death'. (That was a nod, wasn't it? Or am I just being obscure.... again?).:erg:

If you hear the "found secret" sound and "found secret" appears on the screen it's a secret, otherwise it isn't. ;)
The secret in the wine cellar is only revealed in Night Two. Anyway, it's not counted as a secret, since the whole thing is well visible.

What are you referring to, precisely? The Carnival period placement?

I finished this great campaign. Thanks Lady Rowena. :thumb: It must belong to top 10 FMs of the year.

I had a great time playing these missions. I didn't pick up on the nod to 'Masque of Red Death' and since Lady Rowena doesn't seem to know, then it was probably unintentional. However I did like the nod to the (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Port_murders) Burke and Hare murders from Edinburgh. Nice touch, having a historical tie-in to the Thief universe.

I know the E.A.Poe novel, of course, and I know the beautiful homonymous FM by Raetsel. But it wasn't my intention any reference to them.
There was a vague nod to "The black cat" instead. :)

Just finished this.
The only feedback worth giving is the constructive variety, and by that I mean that this FM was so well made that there is way too much compliment. I think Rowena knows how good this FM is. So I'll limit myself to saying two things:
Positive: I think you did a really good job with the difficulty of this one. I played it on expert, and decided to KO my way through the first play through for ease of exploration. So even with empty streets it still took me several hours to complete each mission, and towards the end of each I had just the right amount of "loot hunting". In other words, I was missing enough loot to encourage thought and deep exploration, but not enough to frustrate me or bore me. I was engaged and immersed the whole time.
Constructive: The story was somewhat cliche. Not to mention very un-Garrett-like. I would have preferred another protagonist for a story like this, but even with that I feel like the “mystical force of this-and-that threatens the city, and for some vague altruistic reason Garrett (or other) strikes out to set it right” thing is over done. It felt impersonal and unsurprising.
So to be clear, I think this mission has the best level design I've ever seen. For any game. I even think it tops the OMs. Had the story experience been more engaging and inspired, this would have been the best Thief experience I've ever had. As it stands, it's certainly the best FM experience.
Excellent work Rowena. Next time, look into finding some talented Voice actors, artists, and writers and see if you can come up with some briefings. I truly hope that this isn't the last piece of work we see from you. Thank you so much for all your efforts.

PS. Let's see to it this gets a gold hammer. It tops Inverted Manse and Calendra's Legacy in my book.
