I have to say that I'm having a great time with this mission. I think I had something broken in my game though. I saw a zombie guard, whom I wasn't able to reach. At least I think he was a zombie. Anyway, he is the only one I never cured because he vanished on me. I think maybe the watcher got ahold of him and blew him up. When I reached the front of the mechanist area with the watcher, Jason the guard was there running scared, as if he was in a fight and on the verge of dying. So maybe Jason got in the way of the bombs from the watcher too. I finally found all the secrets thanks to someone mentioning the clockmaker and Lady saying about the ladder in the canal. I came up only 20 loot short. Who knows where that was and I found some really obscure areas with coins and such.
As mentioned by some people, I did the cathedral tower from below it, shooting my rope arrow at a perfect angle passed the fallen ladder and climbing up. The beams inside the cathedral look a little deceiving, like they are metal, but I should test stuff more often.
I try and creep, crawl, and climb, the 3 big C's as much as possible. After reading Nils letter, I figured out how to get his key from the other side.
Anyway, it took me 4 game hours to complete night 1, can't tell you how many reloads and deaths I had to go through. I'm looking forward to the rest of the game.
Like other people have mentioned, don't just give up and come looking on here for answers. Not that 14 pages of reading just to get to my posting will not have yielded everything you need, but I find it more fun, yet frustrating to figure out things on my own.
Advice I have is always look up. If you see open windows, ledges, etc, try and find a way up there. I've stacked bodies, barrels, crates, and anything else I can to climb. I even climb open doors, statues, street lamps, torches, and anything else I'm able to, just to see if I can make it up on top of roofs and ledges. Reload is my friend, every time I lose a rope arrow. If you gain a lot and need them for killing, waste a few. :)
There were a lot of secrets in night 1 that weren't real secrets. I think that throws people off. Personally I think a secret should be something you don't need to complete an objective. It should be a bonus that isn't required to find, just in case you don't find it.
Anyway, I'll post night 2 on the appropriate thread if I feel I need to say something. Good luck and this is a fantastic mission so far. :thumb:

No, I was thinking of
the judge. Don't tell me that you didn't discover the end of the story! :D
Oh, so that's where the cat was in the cellar! It all makes sense now. That's actually pretty funny. Nice job, Lady Rowena.

Jarvis,
I don't think that in the future I will have people who write stories for me or anything like that. I'm not the kind of person that can work with a team, I will never do. It has to be "my" mission, and if it is trite and it's not a piece of art, well....there is nothing I can do, I will have to live with it. :)
Thanks again for the comments. :)
I don't think there was anything wrong with the voice acting. In fact, my point is that I think there should be more of it.
Perhaps you mistook me. There's a good reason I used the term constructive and not negative, and that's because I think your project is amazing. Yet to only speak of its strengths is to stagnate. You deserve to have your work validated, and more so you deserve to have your work evaluated so you know what you could potentially do better next time. That's something that I wouldn't waste my time with on a lesser project.
So when I say the story could be more enthralling, what I mean to say is that if there is a “weakness” to the overall experience, it is story. That being said, I would like to see that improved in the future, if only because I want so see the best FMs possible. You've exhibited the skill necessary to aspire to that goal.
So to hit your specific question about Garrett: He has become a symbol to us all. I already said that I would prefer to see an original character in this type of story. That's because we all define Garrett differently. To me, Garrett isn't the kind of guy to “cure X amount of plauged victims”, amongst other things in your mission. Apparently you have a different view of him. Neither is more valid, but to impose one view over the other is likely to draw a number of people out of the story. That's the beauty of an original character, and that's why I wish more people used them. I imagine that's why T2X did so. I'd also like to point out that in the case of original characters, it's much easier to do voice acting and create dialogs. Sure we'd end up with a bunch of Garrett clones, but a project this special deserves its own life and I believe it would vault a new character into our hearts. It'd leave you with a lot more creative freedom too, and I love to see a character evolve over several FMs.
There's nothing wrong with wanting complete control over your project. I would just offer that it would be really neat to have briefings or cut-scenes to help carry the player between missions. That would do much to creating more personal attachment to the story. I don't even think it would have to be very sophisticated. Simply putting a voice over to stylized drawings works great. It certainly worked for LGS. So when I suggest you bring in other people, I'm only talking about images or other voice actors to help flesh out a story. Out-sourcing writers is another matter, and I can certainly understand not wanting to. I wouldn't. Though it may be nice to set other minds to doing various readables. That goes a long way to creating a more real and believable world, and doesn't require you to give up any story control at all.
Lastly, I hope you understand the golden rule of feedback. “If it fits, let it sit. If it doesn't apply, let it fly.” I don't mean to degrade any of what you've done, only to help elevate what you do in the future.

Hey Sly, you almost moved me, thank you. ;)
Of course I know what WOW means, I was just playing the fool. ;) I didn't know that it wasn't an acronym though. :o

The dictionary of The Seven Sisters FM player: outstanding, amazing, stunning, breathtaking, great, excellent, thrilling, enjoyable, best of, top ten, ... Have I forgotten anything ? :)
Lady Rowena, your FM is definitely the best of this year and moreover definitely one of the best FM ever. It tops such masterpieces like Caledra Legacy.
The quality of your FM is clearly visible during play: although I usually have to use TTLG forum to find help with other FMs, I didn't almost have to do it with 7S. The game play is fantastically well-balanced. And opposite to this well-balanced "easy" play is really hard to find any secret, as it should be.
Thank you, for your hard work. I'm impatiently looking forward to your next work.

I have to say it loud: THIS MISSION IS FANTASTIC!
I miei personali complimenti, sei stata semplicemente eccezionale!:D :D :D
I'm still on the night one (
quit form the crypt
) but your work it's absolutely at same level of Calendra's Legacy, IMHO.
Your FM it's really an incredible Christmas gift for real taffers. I have to say GRAZIE millions of times!:thumb: :thumb:

That's another thing that's very true. Everything in these missions can be deduced from taking your time and thinking. I didn't have to check these forums for spoilers at all to complete the missions. (Though I did take a peek for some advice finding my last two plague victims in Night One...).

Greetings,
I've been taffing around with FMs for a few years now, but this campaign is so well-done I had to go as far as to join this forum just to express my thanks out loud and say how much fun it was. It really is the best I've played so far. Even among those commonly renowned FMs. It embodies everything I ever wanted in a Fan Thief Campaign. :thumb: Thank you very much Lady Rowena.
