Hey, welcome Lucky Hand of Glory. You'll love it! Enjoy. :)

I liked how the ending was not *typical*. Far from it. :sly:

BEAUTIFULL BEAUTIFULL!!!
This FM has all in it what a Thief gameplayer needs  :thumb:
I guess this one can't be "topped":nono:
I read about Calendra's Legacy here .... but since it's a T1 campaign and I can't play those ...... I have no reference ....
I missed some secrets, didn't find all the loot, but I'll dig in again and start all over again.
Before that I just must see how to play a betatest for another great Taffer. I'm having some DL problems.
THANKS LADY ROWENA: This was the best Christmas gift of the year!!!:thumb:

Oh hell I let them all out! Whoohooo!! Of course, the last few were on my tail for a bit. Broke out the sword, took no damage from them.
I always take damage from those things if I try to use the sword. :P I think its partly because if I don't hit on first swing, they pop and I get a bit panicky because I can't find it before it hits me and it all goes down hill from there. lol So I rely on the bow. Problem was I only had 6 or 8 broadheads left after getting through the lake. I sniped my way through that and it ate quite a bit of my arsenal. (Which is hilarious, since all the other missions I had more and used less. Go figure.)

I did it the sneaky way.
Actually, now that you mention it, I didn't check their cages for loot. I got a diamond from somewhere in there, but forgot to look around once I'd gotten rid of them. lol I'm definitely going to have to fire it up again and load a slightly earlier save and poke around a bit more before I let the mission end. Aww, poor me. (Yeah, right. lol Ok, sarcasm doesn't work well in text.)
Actually, thats one mark of a good mission. Lots of ways to do the same action. Each player is free to make their own approach without breaking things. :D Personally I did not have any trouble with figuring out the solution. . .I saw the book in my inventory and read it before I went into the lair. And having just completed the earlier part of the lair, I'd already gotten the written clue that told me what I needed to know. I was a bit fuzzy on just *how* until I saw those cages. Then it became clear. :D

I was the same way. I saw the spiders below, in their pods, if you will. Nope, close, but, thats not it. Keep going! I wondered exactly what would work, then, as you said. I saw the cages, ahhh!

Well, I just finished Night 2 after two and a half hours of exploration (probably more like three hours, since I did re-load a lot, and Thief does not record this extra time). This FM is a masterpiece; easily one of my favorites. Many thanks for this high-quality contribution!

Crypt:
As I can recall, you can only enter the crypt if you have its key, which you must find in the Cathedral. I assume you know the street (Cathedral St.?) that adjoins the potion maker's (Brother Martius?) back door, the Hammer dormatory (the doors of which are unfrobbable), and the entrance to a court of which the first thing you see is a large, ornate building with a statue before it. The latter building is that which houses the crypt. Circle around this building and you'll find a set of doors, which is the crypt entrance. Directly across from these doors will be the Cathedral, patrolled by some Mechanist servants.
Cathedral:
Behind the Cathedral there is a fallen cement pillar, buttressed against the Cathedral wall. Upon walking up this pillar and turning right, you'll notice an angled ledge that you can jump and mantle against. Once on the aforementioned ledge, continue on and you'll find a flat roof. Across from this is a skylight that can be picked.
