Bikerdude, I fully agree that LCD outshines CRT. I've got a Westinghouse 19" flat screen. The colors are superb, no dead pixels, great contrast. I've done the same thing you have, I've stopped and stared, hah. Not polite to stare, I couldn't help it! I found swimming under water is better, I can see better compared to the CRT.
Sorry for the off topic, every thing just looks so purdy now. :p :cheeky: I love it.

I just started last night - still playing through night 1. I had to stop by and tell you what an amazing mission I think this is so far! The gamplay you've achieved is really inspirational, as is the city's design!
Thank you very much for this masterpiece!
Said from you is a double compliment, thanks! :D

(it must have taken you ages to get all this done!)
Yeah, I was a young and beautiful woman when I started, and now my face is covered by wrinkles and my hair are turning grey.:p ;)

I am desperately seeking a reason to not hate this mission.
I have been everywhere (well obviously not everywhere) and I cannot find a way into the sewers. I have found the
diaries of Knox and Malthus(sp?)
and I have read everything I could find. I figure I need to go back in the
Judge's house. I'm standing before two unpickable doors
What now?
Did anyone do a walkthrough for this mission? I hate to needlessly contribute to an already unwieldy thread. Also...
Do I ever get a second lockpick. I have half the doors in this town picked half open. I would just as soon have started with no picks if there's only going to be the one.
Sincerely,
Frustrated in Omaha

Orobas, there is no second lockpick in first night ! You will have it in second night.

Orabas,
you are in the judges, did you find a key? Use the elevator to go to his cellar, you can go from there.
Also it says even before you start the mission, on darkloader, READ ME. It says you will only get one lockpick the FIRST nite. Other one you will acquire the 2nd nite.

Just wanting to share further, the image I took using fraps. On my CRT this image looks very washed out, and that is messing with the settings to try and optimize it as best I can. If everyone had an LCD monitor, Thief would seem like a whole new game. Interesting enough, using fraps, I didn't have to mess with the gamma, or anything, for those that do have an LCD. This is what I see, pretty true to color, everything, it looks gorgeous. Of course, that varies per monitor, I know. Lovely colors, etc. I've used fraps before, but, its been awhile, much better screen shots than using thiefs method of taking screen shots. I was just tickled that the sky looks better, everything is better. :)
I was just fascinated, and surprised by the difference of LCD and CRT. Major difference, for me at least.

I knew that about having only one pick, but I have tried picking every door in this town. I opened many, but most are half picked. This is frustrating because the town is so big. I found Sewer one key, but it doesn't work.
Where is this key in the Judge's house. I have frobbed everywhere (above doors, rafters, etc.)
Lady Rowena on 31/12/2007 at 20:13
Not only the readme, also the objective itself says it. ;)
If you have already read the diaries,
find a way to enter the cathedral :)
The key is on the judge corpse.
Orobas on 31/12/2007 at 20:25
Ok, well I found the key.
I swear I frobbed that body a hundred times.
I got into the sewer but then the game ended saying I killed someone. What the &*%!@ happened?
Also, I found
Conor the blacksmith. Is there anyway to touch that sword in a way that doesn't kill you? Or should I stop trying.
BrokenArts on 31/12/2007 at 20:49
Orobas, you really need to explore all the areas carefully. There is more to conors place than that particular area. Look further. Stop trying to touch that sword, he's working on it.
