Considering that you're the only person I know who thanked
a whiskey in her FM's credits, I think your liver would probably have died
during those four years. ;)
You know . . . you have a point there. :D And why do you always make such a big deal about me thanking whiskey in my readme, but never say a word about the tequila? ;)

"thanked a whiskey"? Lol, this explains a lot about her odd visions during th betatest of T7S. :D
Hey, be nice, I didn't drink when I was testing! ;)

Yes, I remember reading that. Where I was (am) confused is in thinking that Night Two would entail a different area with Night One's section inaccessable. Based upon what I'm reading, it looks like once I get the other lockpick, I'll be able to tavel back to the section covered in Night One, and complete the task of exploring.

spoiler:
Maybe Jeremy the baker? He insisted to flee toward the porticullis where the plagued guard was.
The only question I have then is why did everything go fine when I left the guard up top and then went down? Wouldn't the same innocent get killed no matter what?

I don't have a sure answer. I can only imagine what may be happened.
Maybe before that happening you were far away from that place. The Dark engine stops everything when the player is at a certain distance. I.e. the guards don't patrol when you are not in their area and if you are not watching at them.
So the action of the plagued attacking the baker maybe only took place when you entered their radius.
I'm just guessing though. :)

I seem to be at an impass. There are loads of unopenable doors and I don't know which ones I should be able to access and which ones are for later. The cathedral and crypt doors are completely inaccessable. There's a dead guard behind some bars there with a key on the ground but just not within reach. I think I've been around everywhere else that I can get to.
The only objective ticked off is finding the journals. I've got so much to do but running around in circles. I'm sure that there is some minor thing I've managed to miss that will open up this mission, but don't know where to start.

Thank you Lady Rowena. I know what you're referring to and I tried to get in that way, but was unsuccessful. I'll go back there now that I know it's the way in.
This is a marvellous fm btw.
