I don't quite understand why she set that area up that way. It's only asking people to try to rope arrow up there, despite it being nearly impossible. I know I spent a good many minutes trying before I finally gave up.
You could even jump up and slide the ladder out of the way . . .

Maybe I didn't understand well. Didn't you entered the cathedral the very first time
from the attic in the sacristy? (where the dead priest was)Then you (the player) were supposed to
shot a rope arrow to one of the beams in the cathedral, not inside the bell tower. From there there is a hole in the roof to enter the bell tower.
From wht you said you shoot the rope arrow inside the bell tower instead, right?
Yes.
I got to the Bell Tower upper sections by shooting rope arrows from the Bell Tower ground floor. I will go back there and discover the proper way up.
Because she thought that she made it clear to the player that it was IMPOSSIBLE to climb that way.
I even made the first "floor" of the belltower of stone material instead of wood to make it even more clear...:p
I only realized during the betatest that it wasn't clear enough, but it was too late to change the set up then. :(

Ha! Never underestimate TTLG's resourceful thieves! It took a bit of wiggling, and it seemed like an odd design decision for such an excellent FM, but somehow I managed to rope arrow up from the inside, too.
On a related note, since I had somehow missed playing Rowena's Curse back in...2003 (WOW!), I downloaded it from CTM. A very impressive piece of work! I was up until the wee hours finishing that one.

Yes, I had gone up the Bell Tower from inside it as well. I thought nothing of the difficulty in doing so because it was such a rope arrow centered mission, I figured there'd be challenges like that.

Fidcal's log. Day 9. GameSave : 5hrs x 2 = probably 10 hours real time. Through to the next section and this is the perfect mission. Holds my interest and I'm really taking my time, rolling up my sleeves, taking my time and noting every detail, writing or printing relevant clues. I've recoloured the map buildings dull orange, streets, light grey, and water pale blue as I found it confusing otherwise. Merged the two pages and printed it to use at boundaries. I want to marry this mission, examine it in detail by torchlight under the bedclothes. But then people would think I was ... strange. Shall try to finish campaign without help if possible but it may take some time. Target : February or even March.
[no reply needed - I won't see them as I am unsubscribed to avoid spoilers]

I'm a litle confused about the secrets here. I have:
The small switch by the fireplace in the Hammerite library
The small passage near the river
The clockmaker's house
The cross in the crypt (changed this one following ffox's post))
What am I missing?
ffox on 4/1/2008 at 10:23
The_Dude: Forget the banner.:)
You have missed a wine bottle on the flat roof SW of Stonebridge (climb the ladder in the canal) and the cross on a tomb in the crypt.

Dang! The in-game map is saved with the gamesave of course it is! So I'll never see my re-coloured maps in-game. At least I got my printout.
