No problem. Many players never even see that window. There are a couple more that you might run into. I won't mention them, but there are two right at the start of the mission N1.
A couple in N2, one of which you are pointed too and a couple you really need to use your eyes and "How do I get there from here". :D
As for your equipment problem, you should have gathered at least 3 or 4 before you even got that far. I suspect that you did not go into the blacksmiths and collect all the weapons. If you only had one, it must have been the one from the grate. Or you have been leaving them behind as you use them.
If it is the first, dive in the canal, swim back to the tunnel at Basso's, the go into the smithy and get the weapons. You can avoid Conor easily. He walks up stairs, grab the waterarrows. Hide by the open door to the sewer. When he goes up stairs again follow him and dodge behind him to the dark corner by the door.
When he leaves, clean out the weapons. Arrows and flashbombs by the counter, sword on the counter, arrows racked on the wall by the corner by the door.

Lady Rowena has produced a true classic. After initial difficulties I fell in love with this FM. It kicks ass!
Nice Job, Lady Rowena!:thumb:

The restart went well & I'm really enjoying this adventure now. I've just sneaked into the Hammerite complex library (which seems rather Mechanistic on account of that low, metal ceiling - I can really smell the iron!)
Very absorbing dreamlike atmosphere. This is one of the best Thief fan missions, but it's not an easy one.
Now I'd better see where that ladder leads to....

I didn't spoil anything, but since you want to be that way, fine.

You only need one rope arrow to get into that window. Shoot it from the Dancing Burrick like you did, but aim for the wood on the right side of the window, inside edge as high as possible. From there you can drop into the water, climb the rope and jump right in without any trouble. I'll grab a screenshot to show you.
Does the word SPOILER mean anything to you. If you read the preceeding posts you might notice them.
There is a reason for using them. The main one being that ONLY THE PEOPLE WHO SPECIFICALLY WANT THE INFORMATION CAN READ IT BY TAKING A POSITIVE ACTION.
The rest can read through and not have the game ruined for them if they have not reached that part of the game or mission.

Yes, you did give away a clue, it happens. Just points made in threads about the FM, people prefer the spoil tag. You didn't have to remove it, just cover it. :->

 5 Hours of joy and frustration and still on night one! I am sure everyone who plays this mod realises the time and effort that went into the making so a BIG thank you for sharing it with us.:thumb:
I think I need just one objective to finish night one "Maya's Heart" I have searched the forum and realize that I have to drop it into one of the four fonts and that leaning over is the way to go, but no amount of leaning, left or right, front or back seems to work the heart just stays in inventory and the R click has no response all the other inventory gives a response to R click ie. keys move etc. I guess I am missing something but what that is has me stumped.
Also I presume the objects of Jenivere and Basso, no innocents to die, Don't kill any civies will trip once the heart is neutied and I return to the room in Basso's house?
Fellow tafs I need your help :(

This is very strange...
Make it sure that you have assigned a key to "drop item", which is what you have to do in order to drop the heart.
It's different when you use a key (for a door), then you press the "use item".
I am very glad that you are enjoying my mission. :)

Just thought I'd add something. The right click key can work for throwing items, another way of getting an item out of your inventory. That setting isn't on the item in question, so it's necessary to drop it. :)
Lady Rowena on 9/2/2008 at 06:44
Well, it depends...I use the right click to move forward fast. :)
