I have been playing FMs for a while now, but this is definitely one of the best. The architecture and attention to details deserve more than just one :thumb: .
I took me hours to figure things out. And the crypt made me sweat...
It's been said here a million times... This mission is great. Thanks a lot Lady Rowena!!

Ouch, these missions make me want to stop making fan missions, because they can never be this good! I'm having an absolute blast playing them - great pacing, very fitting ambient sound, solid design, well-written text, incredibly well-built city architecture with great textures. I'm struggling to find any flaws with this mission!!! I've just finished Night Two, so hopefully the final night will be just as entertaining (and painfully good to a fan mission author!)
Now someone make some really bad missions to cheer me up! :joke:

When I try to cure with the holy water, my arrows just stick where bassos girl is, but they dont splash like water/holy arrows do. Every other arrow works properly. So I cannot 'cure' anybody, I have done everything out, but do not want to release basso yet, for fear as warned that his girl will kill him if I dont cure her first. Don't know if this is a bug, must be, unless there is another way to use the holy water

OMG, death stage 12 strikes again?
I am sure that there was no item with this bug when I packed the FM, maybe it's created in game?
So you didn't use any water arrow until now? Are you sure that it's not only one arrow to have the problem?
Did you try to reload a previous save?
I don't know what else to suggest, sorry. No one else seems to have had this problem......:(

I don't have any ideas for how to work around this, but I just wanted to say that it's entirely possible for DS12 to crop up in game. Sometimes the cannonballs robots shoot don't disappear when they explode because of DS12, but other times they disappear properly. It's some seriously bad luck that this had to happen to the holy water arrows. :(

OK,
I just wiped Thief 2, reinstalled, lost my saves, started from scratch, and it seems to be working now. Should be able to breeze through to get back to the point I was before. BTW, what is death stage 12?:D

Only other crazy thing that happens to me is, most of the time when I go to the readables, or the map, or objectives, and sometimes the main menu (esc) I get either a black screen or (the best way to describe this) a screenshot of the last frame I was in prior to hitting esc key. It is dimmed and enlarged. Some weird graphic freakout. However, I can get right back into the game by hitting esc again. On some readables, I have to go back and forth a few times until they appear. Must be these fancy new graphics cards. They are ATI HD3870s running crossfire config. It is annoying, but I seem to be able to work around it. Ever heard of anything like this?

Are you possibly using DDFix? I am experiencing little symptom of what you have described since I'm using it.
If not, I don't know what to say.
Death stage 12 it's a bug that occours in game. When it happens, AIs can't die and become invulnerable; arrows don't die/disappear after use. So if it's a broadhead arrow, you can use it infinite times. But in case if a water or fire arrows, they become unusable as they have no effect.
I'm glad that you were able to recover your saves and to get rid of the bug. :)

Could it be the change in resolution? Readables et al are at 640x480 res, so if your gameplay res is higher, it can take you to a black screen, show you your desktop for a bit, pause for 10 seconds+ whenever opening or closing a readable, depending on your graphics card. Pain in the arse. I just play Thief at 640x480 res to avoid it.

Yeah, my own monitor does something similar - it often goes into standby or error mode (black screen with flashing LED on the bevel) during a quickload or even accessing the map etc. I have to switch it off and on. Strange thing is it doesn't do it all the time but seems to be session-oriented so some sessions are worse than others even on the same FM. I don't know of any other program where this happens except Thief but then how many programs switch between high res and 640 x 480? I'm resigned to it until I get my next monitor.
