Perhaps I'm doing things in the "wrong" order. :cheeky:
Anyway, I found a sword. Actually I found two. Ouch! :nono:
I found poor Nils but not his key. And there's a shop I haven't gotten into yet, the Clockmaker. Got almost all of the objectives done, though. And now I have lots of Holy Water. I think I'll take another cruise through the streets and look for plague victims.
This is so much fun.
Edit....Uh, oh. I wasn't sure where I would find a fourth plague victim, but I was certain I knew where three were: Basso's neighbour upstairs, the man standing down near the canal where there's a secret, and the woman in the doctor's house. The woman has gotten out, and I think the guards outside killed her. I saw a few more behind barred doors as I went through the level, but later I found them all lying dead in the streets. Now I don't know where I'll find two more.

Fraser:
Did you try the apartment near the fruit stand, near where the woman was being burned alive? Or is that who you meant by "Basso's neighbor?
Also, when you find your way into the clockmaker's you should find another victim.

Take a look at the Police Station, go up, where the archer is and explore the roof nearby.
BTW, be careful with the plagued, also on Night Two. If too many of them die, then the mission will fail. I reccomend to save often, in a different slot. :)

Yes, I worked out how to get into the shop. That had me scratching my head for while, but after looking at it from several directions it became clear.
I must say those townfolk are remarkably ungrateful when Garrett cures them. I think just on principle I'm going to go back and knock them silly with my blackjack :laff: (if I can get away with it under the mission rules, that is).
The one I meant by Basso's neighbour was the one upstairs, where you rope up just next to Basso's shop door and go through the window.
It sounds like there are one or two more victims stumbling around out there, so off I go.
...Oh yes, I see. I had made a mental note of that place a long time ago and forgot all about. Objective completed.
All right! Mission completed. Almost all the loot, missed a secret. And looking forward to #2.

Hi Lady Rowena,
I just wanted to say that in my german version of Thief II, Seven Sisters crashes to desktop with the "thief2.exe had to be closed" message at the point when there are those green pagan monsters with scissorhands (looks like it). Maybe it's because of missing sound files or so, I just wanted to say/ask that so maybe someone who has experienced this problem, too can say me what caused this. It also only happened only twice, but, as I said, only when I came to the area with those pagan monsters. But now, let me say this: The Seven Sisters is by far the best city mission I played because it's so immersive, all is full circle. Keep up this work, it is fascinating, the details, the writing (which is not so long, I hate long readables ;-) ), the athmosphere and all the different characters! Everyone has a name, it's so realistic and one can feel that you put a lot of effort and heart in this mission. What are you working on right now, by the way? I hope it's a city mission, I love them, the setting with the infected people gave it a special flavour, I usually don't enjoy undead missions that much, but in this case, it is so limited that even I don't mind about it, just the perfect mix! I hope it contains a big and open-world city like in Seven Sisters with all the details. The splitting into nights, in my opinion, rocked it all because of the areas becoming accessable with each night. You are curious about what's behind that door or in this tower, you'll find it out next night! It stretches gameplay and makes the Thief-fan happy because he can listen to new dialogues, see changes and things that are different and knock out more guards ;-) The only thing I didn't like was that some buildings were NEVER accessable which made it a bit unrealistic because all others were. Also, I would have done it other way with the doors accessable in night one but not in night two so that you can't pick them with the lockpick anymore instead of disabling the frob highlight, so that every door which is/was accessable, whether in night 1 or 2, would be frobabble in any of the two nights. But nevertheless, this missions are gorgeous! Thank you for making this masterpiece, keep up the good work :thumb: . By the way, it is awesome that an engine which is 10 years old is still active and kept alive by projects such as DDfix and I also hope that the open source projects are succesful so the opendarkengine can be improved with bump mapping, etc.
I hope I'm not in the wrong thread for striking out so much, but I wanted to share my thoughts with you, community, who keep this great game living and updated, thank you all.
Thanks,
Hang

I'm very sorry for the bug that you have encountered. :( I am sure that there are no missing sound files, no one else complained about it. Maybe it's a palette issue? Are you playing with the sound and/or objects and textures enhancement packs installed? Try uninstalling them.
I hope that you managed to finish the campaign in one way or another, avoiding the craymen.
As for the unacessible buildings.....well, it's clear that you don't know Dromed. :D (if you don't know Dromed is the editor) It has limits, and with these missions, expecially Night Two, I hit them all. I am happy that you have enjoyed the campaign, thanks for the compliments. :)

Well, you already saw my "top o' the world" pics from Night 1 posted under Night 2...hehe...don't have any more of those to add really, but I have several questions:
Concerning the pair of very pretty and elaborate windows located at one end of the Archway Walk: Are/were these accessible (rather I should say frobbable) in Night 1? With a reachable room holding the one and the same oroborus?
Also, I was never able to make use or sense of the two frobbable dolls (red and blue) in Rowena's bedroom. Were we supposed to apply any "placeable" objects to those dolls or something? Don't think those rooms were reachable in Night 2. Boy, won't those parents be glad they gave birth to that child when they hear where she's a-run off to and done...! :)
And: Anything useful up on that balcony between the Mech Compound and the Mayor's House? I suppose that's true for both nights 1 & 2...
Thanks, and what a blast to play, 'twas! :thumb:
Lady Rowena on 31/12/2008 at 01:24
-No, they weren't frobbable in Night One. (don't tell me that you managed to go there in Night One, I won't believe it! :D)
- "Rowena's" room? :weird: Anyway, the dolls were just there for atmosphere. :)
- Sorry, I didn't understand of what balcony you are speaking about. One more screenshot would help here. :)
BTW - Did you already play Night Three?
crowemagnon on 31/12/2008 at 05:04
Nothing Freudian there... :) I think you know whose room I meant, anyway; she had such a black heart...
Nope, not me, didn't get up to those windows (Night 1), and hardly even noticed them as a potential climbing place. Only went back to get the loot from there (Night 2) after reading in the threads that there was something to be gained there. Heck, I got in the window at the other end of Archway Walk, and didn't even think to go to the end we speak of... :wot:
Well, for the balcony: Hearken back to the pictures I posted, and you see a shot of the square where the Mech Compound and Mayor's House are -- Garrett's standing on the roof of the building that contains the balcony, which doesn't jut out or anything, just flush... I suppose he could hardly fit in there without crouching. Too bad you didn't distribute tons of frobbable crates all over the town... :joke:
Yup, done with the entire mission...fab!
