I am sure that I was able to get up that way. First step is to rope arrow up and move the ladder (it is frobable). Then you can shoot another rope arrow and climb up !

Can be done. But it takes a rope in exactly the right place. I did it ONCE. Others have also, but after that one time I tried about 30 or 40 more and could not duplicate the shot.

The way intended, and the way to go is from the rafters in the main cathedral you can try from the bell tower, but make sure you have a few hundred rope arrows or you will lose.

Of course, you can always do a QS miss the shot, reload and on and on.

I had a save archived, so I went back. It is not as hard, I did it on the second shot.

You cannot climb up here, you have to make a jump to frob the ladder.

The second shot can be a bit tricky, this way there is enough space to climb up,
otherwise you may have to do a jump & mantle up !

First time I played, I also made my way up there (I think I nailed it on the third shot) because that seemed the natural thing to do. :D

In the weapons shop you should have found and entered on DAY ONE.

Go back and check the weapons upstairs on the display floor.

You don't really need a Sword. You can sneak in to the altar and get what you need without facing the Hammer haunt that is there.

The same with the Crypt you will be entering shortly. If you hide and watch the patrols of the haunts until you have the timing and paths down you can go through the cathedral and the crypts without killing the haunts.

In the cathedral go back to the side where the office is. Hide in the shadows near the pillars and watch the haunt walk around. He goes out of sight on the Bell tower side and patrols there before he comes back.

With patience and skill you can get the hammer and be back in the shadows before he comes back to the altar.

SLOW DOWN, LOOK, LISTEN and SNEAK.

There are more than enough shadows against the walls where the haunt won't see you and you can hide.

Return to the alley where you found the 1st rope arrow (where the dairy is). Look up, shoot a rope arrow at one of those wooden squares and enter the judge house.
Take the cellar key from the judge and go to the sewers, you can access the weapon shop from there.

BTW, why do you need to kill the monkey? Think something different instead.
