I've been trying to work out what went wrong with the V2b but I really don't know, thankfully V2 is still around, I think maybe the best thing to do is to go back to V2 on all the sites that has the mission and endure the 'where is the attic lever' threads again ;)
At least I have that sleepless database robot Nightwalker which automatically answers that question :)
Sorry Komag but V2b is b0rked! I really appreciate what you did for me there but something has changed and I can't figure out what.

Ah, the man himself has arrived!
Re: "V2b is b0rked," are there any other problems with this version other than the dialogue hangup in Act 4? I've already finished V1 so it's no big deal if that's the only bug. I'd go ahead and download V2 but I'm already about 30 minutes into a V2b session and wouldn't want to restart unless it was necessary.
Follow-up to the above: I just finished playing through v2b and everything worked perfectly from start to finish. Inconsistent bugs are the most annoying kind for developers.:nono:
Thanks, especially to Saturnine!

I've reverted to version 2 of T7C on my site; any sites which link to the v2b file on my site will get version 2 automatically.

OK -
I found Bradey and the keys (the nursery was very atmospheric), but I still cannot seem to locate the hidden lever.
*sigh*
Another thing:
I'm playing the v2b, and I've become a bit worried by threads mentioning a bug in Act 4. Trying to avoid spoilers, I've not read very much of the actual discussions about the bug.
Is it something that'll keep me from completing the mission? And if so, is it something I can avoid, or should I download the v2 instead?

Hi ToolHead,
You've been in Saturnine's bedroom by now. What else did you find in there besides the nursery key? The control to access another room is in there as well.
I just finished v2b yesterday and it worked perfectly for me. Since you are so far into the game (it sounds like you are almost finished with Act 2), I would continue to play v2b. The bug may not occur for you and even if it does, it does not prevent you from actively finishing the game; it occurs in Act 4 which is a passive sequence where all you do is watch and listen as you did in Act 1.

Apologies to Norman Druart, but after reading his hint to ToolHead I am still at a loss about where to go find the clever lever. This kleptomaniacally challenged thief would appreciate a hint that's slightly more obvious (on the order of a 2x4 to the forehead). Thanks.

This kleptomaniacally challenged thief would appreciate a hint that's slightly more obvious (on the order of a 2x4 to the forehead). Thanks. There are two levers to operate at this point: the first is in Saturnine's bedroom and the second is in the room that is opened by frobbing the first.
Slightly more specific hints:
The first lever is at floor level in the bedroom. The second is near the big chest.
Total giveaway hints:
The first lever is under the mat next to the bed. The second is on the post to the left of the chest, either in front or behind depending on the version you're playing.
