Excellent, but don't you have a side view reference?

I think that looks more than a bit alright, but maybe now that the skeleton is up and about, it could get its lower jaw re-attached!?

Here are both versions of the textures. I still prefer the lighter bones, but I'll provide both in case anyone wants them.

Now one last important question: is there anyway to make a skeleton obviously male or obviously female without dressing them up? I mean obvious to the lay person, not versed in subtle anatomical hip differences or whatever, psychologically obvious, instinctively obvious. I'm guessing not, but if anyone has an idea ...

Add some straggly bits of long hair for the woman? I think skeletons are pretty much the same for everyone unfortunately.

Oh, that looks very good! How many polygons is the entire skeleton model?

Somehow I knew someone would say that! I suppose the magical animation is enough explanation of why it didn't fall off. I was thinking of having a skull with a jointed jaw as an oracular object, maybe I'll make the the AI's jaw jointed too. Would that work on an AI? I don't know, but I do know how to find out. Besides the jaw, are there any other special requests? I thought I might try adding some cobwebs to see how that looked, maybe in the rib cage and other places ...

That's a better thought than any I've had ― blue bones for boys and pink bones for girls ... :joke: ― or maybe a cute ribbon bow on the head for the girl skeleton :erg:

I didn't know the Dark engine could handle so many. 4117 polys is pretty impressive for a late 90s engine (unless I am misunderstanding something).
LarryG on 23/11/2010 at 15:14
It can't handle that many polys in static objects, but for some reason AIs get to have lots more polys than static objects.
