Beat me to it. I loved it, though unlike Dear Esther it doesn't really bear a lot of analysis - it's not at all subtle, and unless the player is particularly dense or completely unused to this sort of postmodern meta stuff they'll likely get everything it has to say.
I give it points for doing Multiple Endings well, though - each and every one of them is well-done, which is a hard task to accomplish.
That said, I strongly encourage everyone to play it before reading anything about it (including watching that damn trailer). Just do it.
Author's Notes are well worth reading once you're done.

Yeah, avoid the trailer til you've played it properly. Then watch the trailer.

Source SDK is free you idiot. Er, I mean, you'll need to buy a copy of the Orange Box to make it work.

this is a bunch of thick brit accents and no subtitles barely audible under loud soothing music isn't it
it's not that i'm a tasteless anti-intellectual
it's that mod makers are too fucking lazy to use the very-fucking-easy closed caption system

You actually need just one Source SDK-enabling game. L4D should do the trick I guess.
Not that the whole thing is worth it, though. I really felt a huge disconnect with the story. At one point the narrator was telling me how I was probably behaving, ie. looking desperately for a button while in fact I was simply waiting in the middle of a huge, ugly and blank room for a timer to stop after having decided that's the path I wanted to take. Yeah got me there mate, got me there.
I am everything but anti-intellectual, yet when something looks like shit, plays like shit and doesn't manage to involve or captivate me, I'm certainly not going to defend it. Especially if, following the author's logic, the only way to "win the game" is never to download it in the first place.
The narrator itself is a really good voice actor, still.

I really hope you're speaking in entirely subjective terms, because
A. Not only is the accent not "thick" but it's as far removed from actual rural British accents all the way. This guy does advertisements. It's what they call a BBC accent, or something. If you can't understand the accent then that has to do with your specific processing of non-American inflections, NOT the actor.
B. It is also not "barely audible" for a general audience. I understand if you have a hearing disability (indeed, I understand very well, given that you had mentioned it half a dozen times in regards to Dear Esther, up to and including trolling poor Dan Pinchbeck) but stop externalizing it and making it the mod author's false.
Should it have closed captioning? Yes, it should. But don't tell us that. Write the mod author (nicely, this time) and I'm sure he'll implement it.

Or it's that you are too quick to jump to conclusions. ffs, grow up.
Fyi - the accent is much easier to understand than in DE. Seriously, he's so clear that if you can't understand it it's not English you speak. Compared to this the voiceover in DE is a mumbling mong.
And there is no music over the voiceover so, you know, conclusion jumping and all that.
