SO!
Some of you may have realized that there are now gifts. Unlike the bonus DLC items of the summer sale, these take the forms of actual games and/or coupons. I imagine DLC may be part of it.
For instance, for my example gift, I was given a giftable copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. Not bad, not bad. But I don't need it.
I figure some other people are in a similar situation. So let's swap some gifts!

I have 25% off any game published by Valve before January 02, 2012. I would be glad to trade it (already have The Witcher though).

Aja - I think EVERYBODY got that. I logged on today and had The Witcher waiting for me even though I'd completed no achievements. So maybe you'll get something else?

Not everybody. I got 33%, others got 50% instead. I believe there were also "Gold" versions of those same coupons, which could be used immediately instead of not until Jan 2, which made them actually worthwhile to at least some small extent. Unlike these, which give you less reduction then the current sale and don't work with the sale.

Sorry, let me be clearer: I think everyone got A COUPON, and it does not count as their gift. For instance, I got a 25% off coupon, plus The Witcher.
I think they may sometime take time to appear, though?

Well, it's supposed to be a coupon, plus a random gift for the 'achievement' of looking in your inventory for the coupon.
But it's been buggy. Mine didn't appear to this afternoon, and it was a lump of coal.
At any rate, while I got nothing from the 'gift', but I do have a giftable copy of Frozen Synapse and a Humble Bundle 3 code cause it came with HIB4. I figure they're not really worth anything though, so if anyone wants, say so.

Just for the sake of being able to compare what we all get, and make a little sense of whats going on here, I'll add my stuff into the mix:
- The 25% off valve games released before january 2nd - valid jan 2nd - march 1st
- 50% off Storm: Frontline nation
I assume the second one is the 'looking to see what the first one is' bonus. If anyone wants it, it's theirs - I have no interest in it. And I guess unless I decide to get Portal 2 on PC (kinda tempting, though already done everything on xbawks), I guess the Valve one is up for grabs too. Aerothorn, you seem really lucky to have got a giftable copy of the Witcher. That was your equivilent to the aforementioned 'looking' bonus? Wow. I already own it, but I'm jealous of your luck. Anything you can think of that influenced it? Had you earned some other achievements?
Wow - I just saw the 'Epic Holiday Giveaway' stuff that will conclude the sale! Grand Prize is every single game on steam. woah.

It's totally random - and it's a damned big list of possibilities, in terms of both full games and coupons. There are apparently like 300 different full games possible, plus a whole lot of coupons of varying usefulness.
