See my previous post. Unless you have no friends, in which I'll take it and give it to one of mine.

I think you missed his point, dethtoll. The coupons don't apply during the sale: even if he wanted to buy it for someone else, he'd use the existing 50% off instead of the 33% off that applies after the sale.
I understand why coupons were included, but I have no idea what Valve was thinking with their current implementation. "If you win this, you can buy games later for more money than they cost now!" Who would do that?
Coal really is coal: either you craft it and probably "waste" it into a coupon, or you save it for a tiny. tiny, tiny chance of winning something.
Crafting is probably better since your chance of getting a game is way higher, I guess.

So much coal. Someone wanna trade me a coal for a coal so I can get one last coal for the draw?

Is that why levels in BS2 sucked so bad?
I think the deals are over soon, so now let's list our worthless coupons.
-66% for Singularity here.

-50% Valve x2
-60% King Arthur franchise
-50% FEAR collection

I think they stipulate that it doesn't work on anything they release during the time window that it's valid.

Crafted my 7 coal into a stupid Valve coupon. Looked it up and apparently they're out of all the other game coupons, so crafting now will only net you a valve game or a valve coupon. Lame.
Mind you, the chances of winning anything in the giveaway is so infinitesimal that you may was well craft a coal and hope to get Left 4 Dead 2.
