I've always thought it was a totally irrelevant logo that looks like a stylized man's face peering through a telescope that's been shoved into his eye. Obviously, the person depicted did something horribly wrong (like mis-design a logo for a website!) and got a spyglass shoved into his ocular socket as a "learning experience".
I can only see the "parrot" if I really try; I can't see any whale whatsoever no matter how intoxicated I am.
Sadly, I have almost trained my brain to think of a Looking Glass as another word for a spyglass, but that damn Lewis Carroll book "Alice In Wonderland" won't let me forget: 'looking glass' = mirror. That's the way I learned it, and no damn screwy logo is gonna change it. So there! :p

Before I knew of LGS's other game titles, and since Metal Age was the first LGS game I played, I thought of the spyglass as a mechanical zoom-lens eye, as a connection to Garrett's mechanical eye. It didn't take too long to see that wasn't the case.:laff:

Heh. My first to LG games were Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri and System Shock, so I got lucky.
