Never mind that. The fact is that that gfx tech is nearing it's peak. Look at the next gen thread in Gen Gaming. All the new games look the same. There is nothing really new. Have you seen the UT2007 video? It's nothing special tbh.
TDM will look good 5 years from now.

Maybe we can have a team reunion when the source code is released and do a 'special edition'. LOL

That's what they said about Miss Pacman.

LOL. I already have plans for my next game and I'm working on preliminary stuff like story background and doing details. Nothing that takes to much time at the moment, but I want to nail it down as far as I can, before actually starting the real work. In case you are interested ... :)

Ms Pac Man does still look good, for what it is. The simplicity of it is actually appealing.

Sorry for the mix up! The "public beta is a mistake" bit was about UC, not The Dark Mod. I meant that UC should not release a public beta.

But nevermind the looks, also. The main point of TDM is that it will be the community's thiefy mod. Don't like something about it? Change it. Something needs improvement? Change it. Want soft shadows? After id releases the D3 source (which history suggests will happen), change it.

change it.One of the many reasons id's still one of my favourite companies. They aren't a bunch of evil greedy taffers who'd rather let perfectly good code rot away in some random harddrive then just let some people who care use it.

Yes, I like id's approach as well. They share, much like many of us were taught to do as children. I just don't get these companies that clutch their intellectual property to their chests, long after it has lost any credible monetary value. It's stupid.

'Cause, like, if you sank millions of dollars and thousands of man-hours into some kind of program that you released into a highly competitive field, you'd just kinda give the source code to everyone.
