They've had quite a while to prepare for the bandwidth hit. And, dare I say it, mirroring it on other sites instead giving Fileplanet an exclusive would've eliminated that problem entirely.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. But I guess they assumed that uploading it to Gamespy only would've saved em a bit of trouble and made the the process a bit more streamlined for em. It's not really a true exclusive since anyone will be able to grab it once its up, its just that GS gets it first.
Was it a pretty stupid move, though? Yeah, maybe a little bit. It'll definately be difficult to get within the first half hour or so but it'll hit all the other sites shortly thereafter.

Curiouser and curiouser. I wonder why someone said that the demo had already been given to Gamespy, but others are reporting that this problem still exists or remains to be solved, and, as you see above, will cause one to three days delay?
