I haven't noticed the head bob. Maybe head-bob is just one of those "fingernails on the chalkboard" things. It bugs the crap out of some people and doesn't affect others at all. :confused:

If the absolute best that can be said for a feature is that "you can get used to it", then that should be a huge tip to the developers that they've made a mistake. After all, humans are resilient beings that can get used to all sorts of horrible things, given enough time. Thus, saying something can be gotten used to isn't even close to saying that it's a good thing.

There's a file, "T3Camera.ini", in the System folder, which controls the camera position, yaw and pitch, etc., and can be modified. I tried changing a few things, but I really don't have the patience right now with the loading times (which I think are due to my cd spindown as CrashT said, but I don't know what to change it to), I'd rather just toss this to someone else for now. But there's always the chance one can tweak out 1st person enough to remove or make the bob not too noticeable. Just another hint.

Yeah I think it might have been in the camera ini I saw it. But I didn't try messing with it because I like the headbob.

Odd, Thief 1 & 2 had a healthy amount of Bob in them IMO. Infact, the dark engine was configured perfectly, i tried playing SS2 and its the same way, hardly noticable but perfectly realistic.

To disable head bob:
In T3PlayerAnims.ini:
find "-- NORMAL GROUND MOVEMENT --" section
change all [Forward1] through [Forward6]
change:
"Translate=false"
to:
"Translate=true"

Nice work, Komag. I was just looking through that file, although I don't think I would have gotten anywhere.
This does make the animation a bit odd-looking in third-person, but if you're disabling head bob, chances are you're in first-person and won't notice, except possibly by glancing at your shadow.
I don't intend to turn it off myself, but others will want to. I'll add this to the Tweaks thread in a little bit.
