Just out of curiosity, what does this do to the third-person animation?
Anyway, awesome find. I see a sweet little TDS tweaker appearing in the next week or two.

Your head doesn't move at all when you walk. It looks rather odd.

I was afraid there would've been a bob. Every damn game with a bob gives me a headach (Blade of Darkness being the worst offender). But its good to know there is a tweak.

Wonder how I'll feel about the headbob in Thief 3.
I disliked the 0% headbob in DE: IW, feels like sliding around with a camera.
I hope T: DS won't have as high head bob as Return To castle Wolfenstein. Extremely exaggerated, I felt like a small freakish monster.

i don't notice the bob in games anymore. but i did at first. even to the point of feeling very upset in my stomch. :(
i'd heard that the pseudo-motion sickness that some players feel when they have the bob implemented can be dealt with by giving their eyes an area other than just the screen to focus on. much like how a driver won't get carsick when driving, but might when she's the passenger.
the thing is to give your eyes other things to consider in it's field of vision and immediate periphery. so i did what they suggested and haven't had problems since.
~ if you have a fairly narrow band around your monitor (1 1/2" or so) then plaster sticky notes, different colors if possible, going at all angles and reaching beyond the outer edge of the monitor.
~ put lotsa clutter around your monitor. at different distances. for instance... i have game related junk (read: toys etc that come in special edition games) on top of my monitor, kinda at odd angles etc.
also add things around it, on the sides and in front of your desktop: coke cans, coffee cups.... whatever. for once, let normal, accumulated garbage work in your favor. ;) on the left side of your desktop: 8" or so back (compared to the front of your monitor) put a stack of game boxes. or books. or both.
the idea is to have other things, at different distances around the area you are constantly staring at when you play. this makes your eyes constantly refocus which should help.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I've been searching for a fix for this. I get motion sick after about 15 minutes playing Thief 3. It's very frustrating! Usually playing in 3rd person fixes this, and I have seen a lot of mentions about playing T3 in 3rd person, but I can't find an option for that in the, well, options. How do I switch from 1st to 3rd person?
Many thanks...

Thanks Kaleid. That mod seems to be for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. though, not Thief. will it still work?
Kaleid on 24/4/2007 at 01:30
Whoops, been up too long. Of course it does not work. :laff:

Thanks anyway:D I've already found the fix for the head bobbing: Komag posted it earlier in this thread. But there are a lot of mentions of 3rd person in the forums, and I can't figure out how to get that to happen in the game...
