From the start it looked like an obvious cash-grab and ripoff of DayZ, so I'm not surprised to see it go poorly.
But yeah, sure would be nice to see a game that takes the realism and survival aspects of DayZ and uses any engine other than ArmA 2's.

Titov worked on Big Rigs? 'nuff said...

That was quick. Only a couple of hours ago I was reading the hue and cry about how it sucks, while the developers were very sorry people misunderstood that the feature list, in the section named 'features' wasn't actually a feature list and they should do more research.
Then some guy posted his attempts to get the game refunded because it was too buggy to work for him and was quoted sections of the EULA that...overwrite all consumer protection laws apparently and say they get to keep the money no matter what (hilariously signing off with "Sorry for the inconvenience").
OK, I guess this isn't a surprise at all.

Nope, no surprise. They've mislead people about this game since day one.
War Z is actually War Inc. with rearranged scenery and added zombies. It's nothing but a money for nothing-scam really.
(

It has earned considerable controversy over their approach to hacking too, since apparently the hacking makes Day Z pale in comparison and devs responding by randomly banning people to try to scare the hackers and refusing to reinstate the accounts of people banned in error. If I'd paid for this, I wouldn't even want the money back - it would be tainted.

I don't have the time to follow game news these days, when I saw the Steam pop-up, I thought it actually had something to do with DayZ.

It does, in that it's attempting to completely rip it off.
It'll be interesting to see how the launch of Day Z's standalone fares compared to this disaster. Rocket should be able to corner the market now, unless he ends up with some launch disasters of his own.
