Don't change the interface and go against CDP's wishes, they intended it to be shit!
Do what you want, I generally enjoy games more when they don't frustrate the hell out of me. :)

that mod sounds cool , where can i find it?

......Well, I had originally though the 1.2 patch hadn't been released on Steam because they were making the necessary changes to avoid 9GB patches in the future.
They weren't. Woo. Another 9GB Patch. And the 'solution' to the Witcher 1 EE upgrade not working was to put out another version of the patch. The 1GB patch.
Does Poland have infinite bandwidth or something?
Ostriig on 7/6/2011 at 00:02
Actually, they probably do. Eastern Europe in general has some of the best broadband options out there. All them copyrights ain't gonna infringe themselves, y'know.
Phatose on 7/6/2011 at 00:21
Well, more power to 'em, I guess. At any rate, I'm done with this game. It not bad, but it's got too many problems in fundamental portions of the game to be great. It's just not worth putting up with this stuff.
Pemptus on 7/6/2011 at 00:30
You silly foreigners have bandwidth limits? Unheard of.
Still, downloading 9GB every time there's a patch is horrible. I'm really glad I don't have the Steam version. They really screwed the pooch on that one, CDP or Steam itself.

Does this mode removes the black bars in the screen?
I don't think you'll see a mod that'll remove the back borders anytime soon. It's either 16:9 or nothing for Witcher 2.
So has anyone managed to get past chapter 1 yet? I've discovered something a bit interesting, and so far, I seem to be the only one who's found considering I can't find any info on it on Google.
In the swamp along the northern edge of the map, there's a tree with a couple of corpses hung from the branches. If you pass by around 11PM-Midnight, one of two (from what I've seen) named wraiths will materialize, fight you for a minute, then promptly disappear once you get a couple of swings in. They only show up once per night, and only during that very specific timeframe.
I haven't heard anything in town about it so far, and nothing I've seen suggests it'll be a quest you get later in the chapter. Has anyone else seen this, or know what it is?

Do creatures respaw in this game? i have a goal wich is to terminate the neckkers that weave cocons, do i only need to explore the florest and eliminate every necker that appears on my path?
Malf on 7/6/2011 at 10:00
Renz, is that the swampy area near the bandit hideout? The shack surrounded by beartraps where you can usually find a couple or more human bandits?
If so, I've never seen those wraiths during my two play-throughs. I'll have to play to that point and give it a look-see.

You got something wrong there. Nekkers don't have coccoons.
There are two contracts, one for nekkers, the other for endreagas. First, you gather knowledge about the monsters, by either killing enough of them or reading books about them. That will give you knowledge on how to get rid of them:
For nekkers, you'll have to
destroy the entrances to their tunnels (which look like mounds of earth and bones). You have to get close enough, and a prompt will appear to left click to destroy it (you have to have grapeshot bombs in your inventory) For endreagas,
Find their coccoons, left click to open them, then slash the eggs inside. After you destroy 3 coccoons, an endreaga queen will appear and you have to kill it. There are two places with coccoons, and you have to kill two queens.
