This is The Witcher. You know, a MATURE dark and gritty and grim fantasy ROLE playing GAME. This happy ass high fantasy faggotry bullshit ain't gonna cut it.
When did you sell out, CDProjekt? Whenever you did, I hope you think it was worth it, because you've now alienated your biggest fans. The fans who have been with you from the beginning. The fans who demand only the most mature and realistic depiction of The Witcher world. The fans who matter. We're all pretty damn mad.

troll.
:joke:
yeah, the main witcher forum was flooded with don't make Geralt gay threads, fortunately they died down after post by the team and the first videos. I am pretty exicted, new combat looks good and the environment........ojojojojojoj
btw, the dragon was featured in the leaked alpha video flying over a burning city and spewing flames. so he will either be a pretty animated background or a possible trophy. thanks for the translation bukary, I watched it and tried to find a transcript. just imagine: if TW2 is the same quantum leap as ME2 was to its predecessor. I don't dare to imagine.

Naked tatters on full display at all times = grown up stuff. You know this to be true.

Mature and adult are not the same thing, I don't care what anyone says.

The polish PSX-Extreme has some info I haven't seen in other articles (they got an exclusive presentation). Here's the rundown of the important points:
-PC first, then consoles. Xbox360 sooner then PS3 probably. But the wait shouldn't be long anyway, since the engine is designed as multiplatform
-Witcher 1 for consoles is still "on hold", maybe they'll return to the project after Witcher 2 is released, but don't hold your breath.
-engine seems very efficient and looks excellent
-facial animation still being implemented, will be procedural
-cinematic angles during conversations
-levels seem quite big and open despite first impressions, no invisiwalls and other artificial obstructions
-vertical movement: climbing rocks and ladders etc.
-engine has no problem generating huge Bethesda-like landscapes, so Witcher 2 will also feature vast plains
-"act" structure still there, with locations unlocked in "pools". Pools bigger than in 1. Overall, allows for a more interesting story than a typical sandbox game.
-story begins a few weeks after events of 1, continues hanging threads. Think: the transition from Mass Effect to ME2.
-many returning characters
-during the presentation, the biggest stress was put on dialogue and a mature script
-convo's are timed, you have to choose your answers quickly (typically 3 options)
-choices will have long lasting effects (think Heavy Rain), sometimes apparent only in later acts of the game
-political incorrectness at least at W1 levels: themes of sexism, chauvinism, racism. It's a game for those tired of sanitized fantasy with knights in shining armor rescuing princesses.
-nudity, titties and sex are still in, but should be much more subtle than the W1 collectibles. Emphasis on emotions. Presented scene seemed tasteful. All romances are optional.
-Intense combat, more control over moves,"soft-lock" on enemies. No traditional dice-roll statistics, hits based on collision detection. Fast/strong hit combos. Generally, combat is inspired by Demon's Souls. Battles should be hard and require tactics.
-Preparation important on normal and higher levels use of alchemy will be pretty much mandatory to win.
-No active pause
-Chucking health potions not possible, alchemy still toxic (various side-effects)
-special attacks, such as Riposte or Knife Throw deplete stamina bar, no cooldowns.
-Overall combat feels very responsive. It's quite frenetic, but definitely not a dumb slasher, esp. at harder difficulties
-character building seems simple at first, but works fine. Three main branches: swordsman, alchemist, mage. Developers want to force players to choose a style and calculate pros and cons. Good exp management important.
-mutagens enhance already unlocked special powers, the whole thing is a bit like the materia system of FFVII: you can, say, giving Knife Throw the effect of "all" makes Geralt chuck multiple knives at enemies in an area, while the same effect applied to a basic sword attack gives you a round swipe at surrounding enemies.
-some non-direct-combat ability examples: slay enough monsters of a type, and you'll get a bonus in fights against them."Character" abilities automatically unlocked based on important actions and decisions: say, you beat up an important city guard, and you get a "guard's nightmare" attribute, which you can use to coerce other guards to let you pass somewhere you're not allowed
-stealth levels with wall hugging, putting out torches etc.
-planned hardcore "permadeath" mode. And yeah, generally the most often mentioned title by devs is Demon's Souls.

yeah, i got that alot from other previews as well. what I might add:
not all conversations will be timebased, they will mix it up, sometimes other ppl will suddenly join or leave the conversation, might get interesting. I like everything sofar. if they really get the combat right this could be a winner. they also said no more grinding and fedex quests, "just" running around in the forest to grind will kill you fast. we'll see :)
