... or that some jewish guy, of difficult to confirm personage, rose from the dead 2000-odd years ago; a big boat filled with two every animal rose above a planet wide flood, built by a 600yr old man no less.
That kind of thing ;)

Thats much more plausible than the Nigerian prince thing. And as for Noah's ark.....its really only the evangelicals who believe thats what literally happened.

These religious nuts had so much attention and so many nut-huggers, when are they going to learn to never set an End Date in stone. Just keep leading the people on who choose to believe it and they will follow you forever. But when you set the End Date and it doesn't come to pass, you just look like an idiot.
Oh, let's gear up for the next one: 2012.

Funny how all these whackos think they can predict it...its right there in the book that you won't have any advance warning.

Perhaps the same kind of person who believes that there actually is a Nigerian prince who needs their help to move money offshore.
Of course there is. We even exchanged a few emails - and he's Ugandan, not Nigerian. He said he'll send me $ 2 million if I send him $1200 for his bail. I just quit my job the other day and wired the money. When those 2 million are in my account in a couple of weeks, I'll be the one laughing at all you losers....all the way to the bank

Why would they?
They are a lot like your stereotypical gangster or Wall Street banker. No conscience exists in their minds, only a steely-eyed greed for money (or in some cases, fame).
The thing is, bankers are supposed to be greedy and make lots of money - it's what their job description is about, after all. I know I'm being too idealistic, but the raison d'etre for religious leaders is to provide spiritual and practical support for people who believe in their religion, either through prayer, emotional support, some kind of services for the community such as weddings and funerals, and teaching. Oh, and evangelism of some kind I guess (depends on the religion though).
Anyway, I'm guessing that in the unlikely event that the Rapture ever did happen, it wouldn't be revealed to the leader of a minor religious group in the US. It'd take both Popes, all nine Patriarchs and the Archbishop of Canterbury to joint-announce it before I'd even think about sitting up and taking notice. Of course, none of them would agree on the details anyway - if they did, I'd personally break into Lambeth Palace and eat Rowan's big pointy hat.

No, the job description of bankers is to do "God's Work" because their own personal profit makes greater prosperity for everyone possible. After all, if it wasn't for them, there would be no such thing as a small business.

Wait, what? Someone coming back from the dead is more likely than a Nigerian prince wanting to launder money?
Now, as implausible as those 419 scams are, they at least don't fall back upon an occurrence of the supernatural to draw in the gullible.
So, in conclusion: WAHT?
