if i go to new game it runs fine, i took a break after the first mission saved and tried to exit it locked up. it does this everytime i try to exit the game. and it locks up when i try to load my save file...
i was really getting into this game and it kills me that i cant play it, well i guess i could just play it till i beat it and not exit to windows. lol.... but really thanks for your help:thumb: Im running XP 32 bit

a fresh install did the trick thanks for your help guys, ill be back to talk about the game and hopefull get my hands on some of the other thief games

That's the second person to call a Thief game "Dark Shadow" recently.:weird:

and also for anyone plauged with the "Theif Deadly Shadows has encounted a problem and need to close" error i figured out a fix.... it does this every mission and some times makes your game crash which means you might not have saved for an hour and have to replay and i also think it might have had something to do with me not being able to load my saved game... but heres the fix
My Computer/Properties/Advanced... at the bottom of the box above OK and Cancel you will see 'Error Reporting' click that and check 'Disable error reporting' and uncheck 'But notiify me when critical errors occur' TADA there you have it, no more crashing or error reports (atleast in my case)
