theImmortalThief presents: Bane I – Keep of Deceit 19/08/2007 - by theImmortalThief

As for timelines, Bane II - Cult of the Damned is going through beta, so I'm hoping I can release it in the next couple of weeks. As for Bane III - Temple of Eternal Agony, I haven't started construction yet, so I would say it will need another 6 months at least.
Immortal :)
P.S. My question about understanding what happened at the end was directed toward everybody. I was just wondering whether between the readables and the events, there was enough information for the player to piece together what exactly happened.

I guess I must be the slowest Taffer around. I still have not found the
key that the priest is supposed to have. Is he the guy in the temple with the fancy room and the balcony?
I have looked everywhere for it and still don't know where it is. Looked in the safe and got the one from in there.

That key opens the safe in the Dock House. The Dock House is the complex right behind the Mechanist temple. Enter the warehouse's office and you'll find the safe. You can't enter the dockhouse from the main gate. You will have to find another way in.

I started to play this mission, but somehow I can't even get outside the inn where you start off from. Seems that I'm either totally gone stale on playing Thief or it is really hard to play. Or it might be that the ultimate difficulty mod is making it so hard. :)
Before I started to work on TDM I was good enough on Thief and never had problems, but since then I had no training, so it seems that I lost my skill.
Well, that's not so bad after all, because back then it wasn't really much of a challenge anymore, and now it is.
Anyway, I like this mission, so I hope to see the end of it sometime.
Of course it also doesn't really help, that my machine now locks up after a few changes of resolution, which always happen when using readables. :( Maybe I should try to play on a lower resolution, which matches the one of the readables, but this would really suck. :(

I can assure you the inn "normally" isn't that hard. ;)
The best way out is through the bottom window above the staircase.
I too hope you see the end of this mission, and enjoy your way through it. :thumb:

Yeah, I have seen that window, but I have to crawl out in full light. I would never hae thought that this would be the best way to go. ;)

I know what you mean. But if you time your exit through the window well you can come out behind the patrolling guard and all will be fine. :thumb:

Missed this one a few months ago, but I saw there was a sequel so I decided to go with part 1.
Glad I did, for this was a very fun mission! Great for ghosting the first-time through, especially the watch station. I actually did get the medallion and golden skull before getting the key.
Looking forward to part 2.
