They may take away our lives, but they'll never take our freedom! - by Lazarus411

Just a few days away from the referendum now, and the opinion polls are pretty much split 50/50. It's quite possible we English may wake up on Friday morning to find that the Scots are revolting :o

Thought we always knew that anyway. ;)
I have sort of been reading a few bits and pieces recently on what the effect might be, mainly for the Scots but also for the Brits - I'm not really sure what I think. The Scots hate us so maybe they'll be happier without us. But I think I'll probably feel as if my arm has been lopped off.

All I'm getting from this is that Doctor Who might have its first non-British Doctor.

If Scotland votes Yes, will former No campaigners head south and claim asylum? Will Scots currently living in England or anywhere else in the UK have to apply for visas? Will Yes campaigners ever question their government trolling for independence and then desperately trying to get back in to the EU?
Much as I don't want the UK to split up I think there's been so much scaremongering from the No campaigners, and so much bitterness all round, if Scotland votes No by a just a small margin the Yes side will cry foul, they might even cry havoc and let slip the Scottie Dogs of war.

So the polls predict a close 50%-50% outcome ?
That means the yes-voters will win.
Companies that organize polls always side with the establishment. Because the establishment is who usually pays their bills. They want to be asked to organize polls in the future too. So they will never predict something that upsets establishment. And numbers will always look way more conservative than they really are.
Good.
I'd like to see Scotland become independent. If only because I am always in favor of small-scale organization over large-scale organization.
