I would imagine one of the first acts of an Independent Scotland would be to ban these...

Relieved, but the Catalans here won't shut up about it all the same... Funny though how they are saying they expected these results all along and only celebrated the existence of the referendum in the first place... First grade bullshit right there, they were totally psyched the Scots would go all YES and they would be next in line for independence...

Voters in Scotland have sent a clear signal to continue as part of the United Kingdom
Let the spin begin.
I would say that if 45% of your citizens vote to leave your country, that's not a clear signal that the Scots do not love the UK so much. I would say it's a clear signal that something is very very wrong.
Now watch Cameron back off from his promises over the next year. Watch them forget the whole thing, and continue as if nothing has happened.
I didn't follow the new closely. But I saw a speech by Cameron. A pure Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt speech. "They don't know what they're doing". As if regular politicians know what they are doing. (Half the Dutch ones certainly don't. I assume it's not much better in the UK). Scots might lose their UK pensions. As if the pile of money you saved up all your life suddenly disappears when you get another passport. I heard the EU has said that Scotland could not be a member of the EU. That they had to wait in line (behind Turkey and Bangladesh) if they wanted to apply for membership. And they could certainly never participate in the Euro-currency. Imho that's an outrage, the Scots (as Brits) have been part of the European Community since the mid-sixties. And now they were treated as if they were from Liberia. More pure FUD. So much for European politicians wanting to unite Europe, or caring about the people in their member-states.

That's misrepresenting it just a little, 45% of the citizens
of Scotland voted to leave the UK, which is less that 2% of the entire population.
