Well, I must say I'm amazed there's actually new info finally. I was giving up hope that it was being worked on. The screens look good, and I agree it's looking like Dishonoured. I enjoyed it (still haven't finished it, real life things came up). I'm glad to hear the devs understand the world Thief started in, and I hope this city is our city we're so used to. I don't mind that the graphics are uber, they should be by now, and I have a computer that can actually play it the way it's supposed to be played (graphically). I really hope Stephen Russell is back, but since he worked on Skyrim, we know he's still around :) It would be great if Eric Brosius gets to do the music again. I love his style, it adds so much to the darkness.
I think I'm finally onboard with T4, but I'll wait and see what's next.

Preach it brother.
I say we molotov cocktail up and head over to that French part of Canada post haste. Our disappointment must be known!
You know how I know this new Thief game is gonna suck? Cuz it's got graphics.

In all seriousness, it looking like dishonored was an inevitable thing. Both games are thematically similar, and both are leveraging the UDK, which, while a great engine, does have a very distinctive look that makes everything that uses it look very...well...UDKish.
That said, Dishonored tended more towards a painterly, slightly exaggerated look, while what I'm seeing here is much realistic in style.

If we get a city that feels alive without load zones at the end of every street I'm onboard. I think the new Garrett design looks fine and I haven't seen enough of the game in motion to know if it's going to suck or not.

I doubt you'll have anything to worry about. If it's being targeted for the PC and PS4, then the game will likely have huge, HUGE maps with tons of characters walking around in them.
Just think about what developers were able to stuff into the PS3's paltry 256 meg of ram. The PS4 has, I believe, somewhere around 8GB.

Hooray, dethtoll posts in ThiefGen, even if it is only one of his lame pics that he thinks are so funny.
Anyway -
It'd be nice if EM could let us know if Stephen Ruseell is on board, now that the protagonist is confirmed to be Garrett.

Can you imagine Stephen Russell doing this atrocious purple prose:
Time has moved on. Power has shifted. New greed replaces the old.
But to remain free in the city of chains - that is still the greatest prize.
First I stole to survive... then I survived to steal.
I am one man; I hear your secrets, see your hidden truths.
I am the shadows, the dark and deadly, the velvet night. You will not see me coming.
I am Garrett....What's yours is mine.
in his signature Garrett style?
Rhetorical question.

This sucks! People quit making good games sometime after I turned 19! Now everything is dumb so all the dumb kids that are alive these days cuz their dumb parents couldn't find the open end of a rubber can play their dumb games without feeling like they're dumb.
Well, we wouldn't want anyone to feel inadequate.
... or challenged.
... or left out.
EVERYONE GETS A MEDAL!!
