It certainly makes you wonder what audience they're going to target.
The consoletards, of course

The saddest part is that any of those titles is better than Thi4f...

Perfect! I just told somebody about Thief 4, and they managed to remember that Garrett type person.

I think everyone is overreacting to this. Personally, I think they did it on purpose as a joke, knowing that we Thief fans, by and large, are very much anti-l33t.
You give the marketing drones FAR too much credit.

Cmon - it would be fun to see a big lettered pop up saying OWNED! every time you smack someone with your BlackJack! :cheeky:

I'm trying to have a sense of humor about it, but when a company is supposedly relaunching a series as a major AAA title, and they screw up out of the starting block? It doesn't give me a lot of hope.
The leet speak thing works fine for Deus Ex, but they're blanket marketing Thief into that same style when it's a completely different game. It shows a lack of research on their part and really makes them look unprofessional. I mean, google leet speak and you can figure out what works and what doesn't. Thiaf indeed.

Let them have their fun... they havent even started preproduction yet, so I'm pretty sure they have lots of time to hone the marketing of the game down to the message they want to portray.
Plus, honestly, as long as they make a good game a couldnt care less about the marketing they choose to use

To reiterate what I said earlier, the most disappointing thing about the THIAF logo to me is that it appears to be the ONLY thing they're giving us today.
I mean, they even paid to advertise this specific day in Edge magazine to build anticipation for it.
And all they have to show for us is a bad joke on the Thief logo which most people don't seem to find terribly funny? :erm:
They couldn't provide one small phrase in the press release which indicated that the game would take place in the iconic City once again? Or at least some kind of official hint that Garrett would be returning (or not returning)? Maybe not even those examples, but something other than an absurd misspelling of a leet-speak Thief logo.
All we get is THIAF?
Again, it isn't that I'm "over-reacting"; it's just that I'm puzzled and a little disappointed given the pre-announcement hype.
