It's very easy and convenient now for EM to say the "Thi4f" thing is a joke, but that's pretty weak. Usually when you have a major announcement or press release, you're trying to impress people. Someone at EM obviously thought the new logo was cooler than shit. Bad call there.
But, to say this is an indication of how the game will be when it's finally released, or that it's a big red flag regarding the abilities of the people in charge? That's just beyond stupid. Anyone making up their mind on T4 from this one simple thing, please click "logout" right now and never come back. :laff:

Yes, but the point was just this:

Of course it's a big red flag about the people on charge.
If these are the prodromes, then they surely will need me to be saved from making a cheap game!

I don't believe it was a joke. I think they wanted something with more visual punch than the game's name with a number after it. They wanted to do something that looked like nothing any fan would do, in order to make it clear that this was official. They understood that there was a remarkable level of balance to the Thief logo as it stood, and that adding something after it breaks that balance, so they decided to include the 4 somewhere in the logo, not actually intending it to replace the E, as it would in 1337 speak, but simply filling the space where the E would go. I believe they were successful in all of that. As a graphics design decision, I get why they did it.

Because this "backlash" is boring and is making the community look like a bunch nitpicking 'tards is why. And you all expect them to respect us regarding other issues when all you can do is moan about this? Its like kindergarden in here. I hope T4 is an 18 rated game because then all you immature twits wont be able to play it anyway.
Also: did anyone think that it just fit under the "sticker" better this way?
Get over. Get a life.
