Is there any chance if they're going to port Thief 1 and 2 to the console like they did with Deus Ex?Maybe just to the Xbox cause it has the power and if they did Deadly Shadows I don't see a problem with the first two.

I'm pretty sure the PS2 and Gamecube 'have the power' to do the first two games as well. That being said, the chances of that ever happening are pretty much non-existant. It's highly unlikely we'll ever get another official Thief game (whether it be a continuation or re-release). Besides, the Thief series has never been a cash cow for Eidos, so I don't see why they would even consider porting two games that many gamers have (sadly) never heard of onto the XBOX just after the XBOX 360 came out.

Thief 1 & 2 were made by Looking Glass Studios, which had to close their doors years ago. Ion Storm made Thief 3, and they found the same fate.
Apart from that, converting games that are more than five years old to consoles doesn't strike me as a very lucrative market idea.

If Thief runs under WINE on Linux, then you may well already have an option for running it on, well the XBox at least. Not sure about the status of Linux on other consoles. NetBSD could be another option (it runs on a HUGE variety of hardware, so there may be a PS2 port), but I don't know if it needs to have an 8086 style CPU underneath to effectively use WINE?
As has been said, there will certainly never be any official ports of Dark Engine games to consoles.

Ermm, you're kidding right? :) Wine is somewhat of an emulation layer to play windows based games on Linux, and Linux is pretty much the largest open source alternative Operating System to windows. It has been around for years. I can't believe you wouldn't have heard of it.

As far as I know, Wine only works on 8086 style processors because it emulates software (Windows), not hardware. This is why Mac users have been out of luck when it comes to playing the Thief series.
I guess Apple's switch to Intel processors might mean that Thief will work on Macs in the future?

I forgot about hacking my XBox option. Probably way too much trouble though, and I'm scared to break it or screw it up badly

After completing TDS on XBox, my roommate now really wants to play the 2 previous games. I was thinking to set up a restricted account on my computer just so he can do it.
Well of all the consoles, Xbox is the one that would have the best chance of running a version of the old ones, being essentially a cut down PC.
