I didn't say the're useless, I said they're worthless.
That's what "worthless" means. The word is used to describe things which are neither useful nor desirable. EG-- "His opinions are worthless". What you meant to say is that CD-ROM drives are cheap. "Dime-a-dozen" would also have been acceptable.
As for the very silly, very naive, very repetitive Mr. Blackwell-- Sir, if they were going to port Thief 1 & 2 to the XBox, they would have done it five years ago. You may have even heard of a sequel, Deadly Shadows? They don't normally release games for a system in reverse order.

I beg to differ. I can see how having a CD-Rom could be useful it's all you had and if you only CD games and never use it for DVDs. But if you don't have one then they're worthless, because you can't even get a plain old CD drive anymore as everyone at least wants a CDRW drive. If you had an old one it's not worth trying to sell on eBay because hardly anyone would pay even $5 for it and you'd have to pack it up and ship it and bother with the whole sale.
I don't want to say they are cheap or dime-a-dozen. I want to say they are trash, worth nothing, but if you really want one you could probably get one free
