I think that using [] for inventory is more realistic and greatly increases atmosphere.
 i never used those... i just used the [TAB] key (and [SHIFT]+[TAB] for reverse), i guess im more used to it than others... :erg: I dont need no damn mouse wheel! :laff:
As for the head bob thinger, i never really noticed it in Thief, save for DS, but then again, i never really played in first-person mode in TDS, mostly cuz i didnt feel like it, and i liked seeing Garrett.

So, when you're grabbing something from a pocket you use square brackets to aid you in selecting which item you get? Stating that one method of input to a game is more 'realistic' than another is kind of ridiculous in my opinion. As to whether or not it adds to the atmosphere, I just found it annoying.

...if you'd motion capture the headbob...
It's true the head moves up and down when walking but the point is that who's walking is perfectly unaware of it. At last this is true for me.
But if headbob is realistic is a matter of personal opinion.
The fact is that it causes an effect similar to car sickness to many so there should be the possibility to disable it.
And can I ask if you who like bob, suffer from car sickness ? Probably it depends on each one sensitivity.

In any case, there's no documented way to disable the head-bobbing. It's quite possible there is a config-file tweak we don't know of... but given one of the original Thief developers said the game gave them motion-sickness, it seems likely there isn't even one of those.

Since headbob happens in real life, and people tune it out in real life... then anyone who can't tune out headbob in a videogame is unrealistic.
magilvia, I regret to inform you that you are unrealistic. Please consult your publisher to see if you have a patch available.

I think he means that you have to take your time to move your hand away from the mouse to use it instead of the conveniant mouse wheel of t2. I think he means that it's more realistic to concentrate on finding the item by taking your hand away from being able to look around.
I understand what he means.
I think. :p
