Surely you jest! Thats one of constantine's guards, though you won't find him at the mansion. Indeed as the subtle hints in metal dawn's post reveal he's actually from
the Mines of Margoth:) .
Serves me right for posting while only half awake. After taking a good look at things, I'm wondering exactly HOW I thought that the archer was firing into a hedge-maze wall.
Apologies, then - chalk it up to my brain not operating at full power that day.

Even better:
for unlimited arrows, get rid of all your broadheads if you have any. Find an archer, get him to chase you. Then make sure to have him stop around a sharp corner to wear he just barely sees you. If do right, he will ignorantly fire his bow into wall. The arrows he shoots into the wall can be pick up and grant you and unlimited amount. This technique can work in just about
any place with
any bowman, but it
only works in Thief 1.
Yeah I wish you could do it in thief2..

In Life of the Party, I gave myself around 200 arrows. When you get to the four archers who argue, wait until they fight and only one of Lady Van Vernon's men is left (the red guys on the left). Jump over to the tower where Willy's guards were and hide behind one of the wooden support posts. Lean out so that the guard sees you and starts shooting. Try to position yourself so that you can just barely see him when you lean as this will make him shoot closer to the post and more of his arrows will hit it. You'll hear him pull back the bow, as soon as you hear him release it, let go of the lean key. The arrow will either hit the post, or go whizzing past. If you let go too soon, he won't fire. As soon as the arrow hits the post, or goes past you, lean back out. He'll be readying another shot. It's fairly easy to get into a pattern, lean out, duck back, lean out again, etc. If you time it right, he'll fire about every 2 seconds or so and maybe half of them will hit the post. If you want a break, just stay behind the post for a few seconds, and he'll go back to searching. When you're ready for more, lean out until he sees you. :)
One piece of advice; Don't try to grab the arrows while leaning/ducking. You'll end up spending too much time trying to grab an arrow and will likely get hit.

This thread fails to mention that only losers need dozens of arrows. Pretty much the only thing they're good for is killing spiders.
